Among my most popular books are The Heart’s Invisible Furies, A Ladder to the Sky and My Brother’s Name is Jessica.

I’ve also won 4 Irish Book Awards, and many international literary awards, including the Que Leer Award for Novel of the Year in Spain and the Gustav Heinemann Peace Prize in Germany. In 2015, I was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of East Anglia.

Such a hard book to read. Racism is taught, not inherent.

This book is so sad and so good. It showed what the Holocaust would have been like from the perspective of a German child.

I'm going to be honest.
This book is an ok book, not bad, not the best, but okay.
I read so many people's options that said that the book made them cry. well I agree that it's a sad book ( I mean, it's the second world war) but the author did not mention the war explicitly so I think I have read sadder books.

now I said I am going to be honest so here's the thing with me:
It's a really rare occurrence that books make me cry. my mother says I'm so unfilling and that I have a heart of stone. so this book did not make me cry but it may make others cry.

I think this book is good for kids about 11+

I hope this review was helpful ☺️

This book was really sad, I did audiobook it so I was so confused what happened in the end and I was shocked when I looked it up. I feel so terrible for the family because they’ll never see him again but the fact they both stuck together was awesome.
