This is highly/overly informative about the English language. It breaks down the basic units of speech and the basic units of sentences. There are plenty of examples to reinforce their point. However, there were a few concerns. First of all, this was a long and sometimes boring read. It was packed full of information but there isn’t much that one can do to make breaking down this topic interesting or entertaining. Also, it seemed that when quoting other sources, the most recent source was from 30 years ago. #GoodreadsGiveaway
Great English resource for teachers, as well as adults wanting to enhance their written and oral skills. The index is very helpful. The book flows in a chronological order that makes sense. A nice resource to have for any professional or person who travels.
There's plenty of valuable information in here, but the writing often feels a bit clunky. It also doesn't really do anything to set itself apart from other books on the same topic that already exist.
