Book 3 of the MY Big TOE trilogy. My Big TOE, written by a nuclear physicist in the language contemporary culture, unifies science and philosophy, physics and metaphysics, mind and matter, purpose and meaning, the normal and the paranormal. The entirety of human experience (mind, body, and spirit) including both our objective and subjective worlds is brought together under one seamless scientific understanding. Book 3: Inner Workings – Section 5 presents the formal reality model in detail. In this section the mechanics of reality are explained. You will find out how the past present and future are formed, how they can be altered, and how you interact with the larger reality as an individuated unit of consciousness. Here you will find an explanation of inter and intra dimensional awareness and the theoretical possibilities of teleportation, time travel as a few of the more fun ramifications of this reality model are probed. Section 6 provides the wrap-up that puts everything discussed into an easily understood perspective. Additionally, Section 6 points out My Big TOE's relationship with contemporary science and philosophy. By demonstrating a close conceptual relationship between this TOE and some of the establishment's biggest scientific and philosophic intellectual guns, Section 6 integrates My Big TOE into traditional Western science and philosophy.
Section 5 aims to flesh out the mechanics of Our System.
Basically, this involves the process by which The Big Computer (TBC) computes probable future trajectories and stores alternate history branches that are significant. One can then subjectively explore these with practice and permissions.
The idea seems to be that TBC we choose with our Free Will which probably future gets actualized as the model TBC works with, while accurate, is not actually 'me'.
What determines a 'significant' situation? -- unspecified.
The time-scale for life on Earth in Physical Matter Reality (PMR) is much slower than the time-scale of TBC's calculations. Moreover, to simulated entities, the 'wall-clock time' for computing all significant probably futures doesn't matter much.
Tom suggests that higher-level intents within the Absolute Unbounded Manifold impact what Realities the TBC and EBC compute (and mostly leaves any details out).
There is amazingly almost no vitriol in this section. Three cheers!

Tom's Big TOE is essentially a Simulation hypothesis. Hah! It was published a month prior to He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named's paper: "Are you living in a computer simulation?".
Well, I think it sounds more like a Virtual Machine (VM) hypothesis, but Tom uses many simulation analogies in the text.
The universality of computation makes such a hypothesis easy to put forth as a theory of everything.
Tom's Big TOE presents some specific details as to what we should be able to do within the VM. He seems to stipulate that we, as Individuated Units of Consciousness (IUoC), exist on a more fundamental level of existence as Consciousness beneath the VM. We interface with the VM to gain experience in our inner-worlds and in interacting with other entities.
Ultimately, I am left with the feeling that this TOE is not very 'complete'. It seems to leave many holes open at the edges that are simply not tied together. I suppose there is value in taking a theoretically powerful enough model and gradually increasing its specificity with knowledge, experience, and experimentation.
In Section 6 Tom reviews some philosophers and physicists who have shared sentiments he deems similar to his own. This is fine :- ).
He explains that he chose not to research similar thinkers because he wanted this work to be his own and done from within a Western scientific mindset. He believes the carrot and the stick are both necessary and thus intentionally brought out the stick. Yuck.
He also thinks that he should not share his evidence for many of his claims about the nature of Reality because then we'd simply be entertained by stories rather than engaged in the concepts and seeking out our own evidence. I think this is a deficit and he should probably share evidence and what he experienced to 'logically deduce' that which he claims (e.g. that AUM is necessarily 'finite', whatever that means, that the local God is male, etc).
The book is nonetheless sufficiently amusing to be worth reading. The picture painted adds some flavor to my own nascent TOEs as he intended 😉

I would personally recommend Tom to write an abridged version of the book that plain and simply describes his Big Picture TOE without any of the fluff and effort to convince us to take him seriously.
My Dutch Uncle Tom had a good ending of his trilogy. But the ending is only my beginning.
I like the sense of wit and lightheartedness with which the concepts are explained.
The Great Work of Thomas Cambell is only the beginning of our inner work.
Some quotes: One who is successful at acquiring, assimilating, and manipulating intellectual objects is said to be knowledgeable and is capable of doing great things (has good quality ideas). In contrast, one who has successfully evolved low entropy being objects is said to be wise and capable of being a great person (has good spiritual quality)
Our perceived past or history can also be described as a specific sequenced subset (previously actualized states) of the all-past-states database. Likewise, our probable future is represented by a dashed thread snaking through a vastly smaller database of future possible states, picking out only the states with the highest likelihood of actualization, as it moves sequentially from generation to generation
Though your over-soul is immortal (disregarding a few rare exceptions), your present personal identity will only persist as long as your over-soul finds it profitable to maintain it. The Fundamental Process urges the over-soul to maintain and progress only what is profitable.
One attribute that makes entertainment so popular is that it occurs at a distance — the one being entertained does not have to participate or get personally involved
I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that absolutely nobody but you can block your path toward quality consciousness. The bad news is that absolutely nobody but you can unblock your path toward quality consciousness
What we perceive as our local physical reality is actually a nonphysical virtual reality, a subset of a larger more fundamental reality. 2) The doorway to experiencing this larger reality is through the individual's subjective mind. 3) The larger reality is based upon consciousness, which is the basic substance, energy, or media of existence. 4) The larger reality is discrete and must be the result of digital computation: The consciousness of (3) above is a digital consciousness and that the virtual reality of (1) above is a digital simulation.
The delusional always believe that they are non-delusional and that the non-delusional are delusional — such is the nature of delusion
book 1 - just trust me bro come on, yapping book 2 - dumbass jokes, more yapping book 3 - if this is ur big toe i must have enormous dick come on tom why would you yap for 900 pages what could have been 2 diagrams and a 5 page explanation????????!!!!!!! i know you're restricted but WTF?! at least you could have explained some things in the fucking books if u are restricted, metaphors, allegories ffs TOM you're 100 years old face your fears! grow your consciousness u fucking dweeb. how about guiding us to experience the same thing? to know the same thing? the fucking gnosis TOM?! instead of providing cultural references, explaining history, mythology, UFOS, dimensions, fucking religions, kundalini, demonology, occult, psyops HE JUST SAID MEDITATE AND YAPPED ABOUT 900 PAGES!!!!!!!!!!! fuck you tom binaural beats suck ass, i liked some of the jokes tho <3 pussy
Thank-you Unkle Tom. You're insights landed on fertile turf. Baby Big TOE's are sprouting up everywhere. For those curious to find out what this is all about...just read it. You won't be disappointed. Unkle Tom serves up a well structured and considered 'BIG' theory of everything in language that is accessible enough to the rest of the monkeys in the PMR zoo including myself. His humor is addictive and draws you in and makes a difficult subject easier to digest. I read this via audiobooks and I felt that it was the best way to consume it in little bites during short work commutes. Turns out it's also a good suppository for traffic madness.
Brilliant concepts but I would recommend in 20 years to write another version with a co-writer that removes Campbell from the equation and primarily focus is on the concept.
