Dear Author, I've seen the way you look at him. Would that the King knew what I knew about you, your life would be forfeit. Your head would be on a pike for the crows to pluck out your eyes. Tell me, is he worth it? Are you willing to damn him as well as yourself?
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love is Always Write" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.

A blend of history and religion come together in this story and give us just a glimpse of what it might have been like to live in a time when m/m love was considered an “abomination”. Add to that, the complication of being a knight and role model, and yeah, you definitely end up with lots of angst. Historicals aren’t my favorite genre, but I enjoyed this one.
I really couldn't get into this story. I found the idea of the story interesting and the struggle with being a night and going against the code of the king but the characters ended up annoying me. As the story finally progressed and Seth and Kent ended up getting together, Seth is completely surprised that Kent has been interested in him. Seth hasn't shown any interested previously but then all of a sudden drops the L word. Seemed like it didn't fit to me. I wanted to like it but just couldn't.
I struggled to read this, wanting to get a taste of Ravon Silvius' work.
I thought the characters were somewhat developed, but I just did not get into the story or find it believable. The whole honorable knight in love with the lusty knight.
And the sex scene, when it finally came, wasn't especially memorable and was quite short.
If you really like homophobia stories about knights, this may be for you... but there is very little 'hook' in this short.
I didn’t expect to like this one as much as I did. The internal struggle for Kent feels honest. The push and pull in his own heart and mind between what is deemed “right” by the Knight’s code and the church and what he desires. His need to protect Seth from himself is edged with desperation. The conclusion, while sweet, leaves many things unresolved. Adult read
I was surprised that I actually liked that one. The plot is believable. But it ended too rushed for my liking. Still a nice friends to lovers read in a historical setup.
