language in the hands of a friendly, gently anarchistic alien who goes under the earthly alias "carrie bennett" can show me what I thought my language couldn't do before I even know it, as I'm reading -- with a beautiful, this-side-of-manageable ache and the suppressed sonata in the background you dreamed of at seven.
