Clearly written with a lot of love for the show, it features information I wasn't aware of before. The layout of the story and the structure of the chapters is good for the most part, but then sometimes they will repeat things from previous chapters for some reason. Also the interviews often feel like they don't expand enough upon certain details, so it's missing context and kind of confusing. For example, one of the show writers said the episode Knightmares was inspired by his childhood, how? It makes no sense.

A very interesting read that gives you all kinds of background about the original show and the TV movies and spin-off series of Team Knight Rider. Even has all kinds of information about how to build your own KITT replica if you have the money. Unfortunately, because the book is kind of old now, many of the listed websites in it no longer exist.

You can tell that the authors are true fans of the show and wanted to write a guide for other fans. One of the authors even worked on the show (I think...I will double check that).

I actually loved Knight Rider back in the '80s. You HAD to love a car that literally talked back, could jump over semis and charge through walls. David Hasselhoff wasn't so bad either. Of course, looking back now it was campy and kitschy, but it was the '80s! This book brings that love back with the story behind how the show was conceptualized, an episode guide, as well as information about the two sequel movies (there were two?!) and the show's first sequel called Team Knight Rider (which I did not know existed).

With the new show (fall 2008) maybe this can become the "official" guide and the authors can expand and update their information. (I like the new K.I.T.T. as a Mustang, by the way, especially with the voice of Val Kilmer - it makes me want to watch Willow, Top Gun and Batman Forever...in that order).

If you dug the show (or just the car), give this book a try.

Superb reference work from one of the number one fans on the planet now running Knight Rider Historians.

As a cult tv historian myself, I could fact check most of this book from my own private reference material of 40 years including owning original scripts and items from the series.

It's a great reference for every episode - I just wish it was a better production standard. A book like this needs glossy paper, beautifully illustrated with all the photos I know Joe and his buddies now own from the cast and crew!
