I enjoyed this book so much. It started off with action and kept going through out the book. Texas Ranger, Logan Hawk is trying to escape from a gang of outlaws he has infiltrated to try and find the leader of an organized gang that is robbing banks, homes, cattle rustling all over. He jumps his horse over a ledge and lands on Shiloh Drummond who is swimming in a river, thinking she is safe from prying eyes. Shiloh is running away from a disastrous and humiliating affair in New Orleans. Their tumultuous relationship and all the adventures they have together is wild. This was such a fun and exciting read. Loved Hawk and his brother Fletcher. Shiloh was fun and brave as she survived the adventures with Hawk and Fletcher.
I have finally completed the most horrible book most likely ever written. It just dragged, and dragged and dragged some more. Now? I am 18 books behind my 2023 reading goal :P
There were two issues that kept replaying in the book. Shiloh was betrayed by a New Orleans aristocrat and she didn't trust men. Logan Hawk, a Texas Ranger, reviewed how white men had betrayed the Indian. It just got old. There wasn't enough story to carry the pages.
Both characters were easy to like and to identify with; plus Logan's brother was interesting. However, the story spent most of its time mulling over whether or not the couple should make love. What action was in the story was good, however, there didn't seem to be enough plot to fill the pages.
Good, quick read about a Texas Ranger who was undercover in a gang. He is on the run from them when he comes across a woman swimming the lake. He has to take her with him to keep the gang from getting her. They take it on the run together and fall in love with each other.
