A woman surrounded by scoundrels finds an honest man in a Texas ranger. Even though he's reluctant to give up medical leave and return to a place where his people were massacred he protects her & with his badge gets answers.

Started this book immediately after reading Bounty Hunter’s Bride and these two are very similar in characters, storyline, personalities and all. Only the names are changed. You have a half breed hero who is in law enforcement, a runaway heiress who is also blonde who also happens to escape her unwanted betrothal, keeping up a married charade with the hero, hero helping her galavanting across the country to help her with finding her kidnapped sister etc. Though I enjoy Bounty Hunter’s Bride more.
