Lovely book! Liked how it steered clear of all the tropes. No scheming villains or exes to spoil the relationship. No arrogant male hero, no doormat heroine. A very balanced pair who truly seem made for one another.

So far the weakest of all the books in this series, in my opinion. It took me a long while to finish it because Melissa and Surim did not convince me at all. Boring at times and when it picked up, it was just meh.

This is the seventh book in The Brides of Bella Lucia series.

It took me a little while to warm to the heroine, Melissa, but her genuine loyalty and love for the children soon shines through and had me rooting for her future happiness.

Surim is a gorgeous hero, although there's a time that had me wondering whether he appreciates Melissa enough! It It takes Surim a long time to acknowledge how special Melissa is, and he seems blind to the shallowness of the other women who are angling to become his bride.

The children are wonderful secondary characters, adding to, rather than detracting from the overall romance. I loved the setting of Qu’Arim and learning about the different customs. Barbara McMahon has successfully created a believable story, showing that Western and Eastern cultures can blend and have a happy-ever-after future.

4 Stars! ~ In this seventh installment of the Bella Lucia series, we meet Melissa the new step-daughter in the family. Surim is a man who was thrust into his role as Sheikh at a very young age, and now when his cousin's children become his wards, all he knows to do is hire strangers to care for them. Melissa soon sets him straight, she's the first woman ever to express her disapproval of him or to ever dare disagree with him. Surim learns what it truly means to have family, but he needs help in realizing what it is to love. This is heartwarming love story with a terrific HEA.

From the first, Sheikh Surim was attracted by Melissa’s quiet beauty, but she was also very skilled and intelligent. She wasn’t afraid to stand up for those in whom she believed, either, even Surim’s three newly-acquired children. Their parents were both dead and Surim wanted to be a good guardian; he just didn’t know how.

Come along on this lovely journey as the orphans curl themselves around your heart and a sheikh finds the love for whom he’s always waited.

I liked this book and all the charecters but I thought that it was a little bland, but that could be because I don't normally read books in this genre.
