I'm a sucker for a tawdry, country-girl makes it in the city novel. What can I say? It plays to my youth.

The sentiments on feminism, love, abortion, etc. have aged some, which makes it feel like a 2.5. And the cliches, so many cliches.

Still it's a solid read for a woman of a certain age, particularly one who survived all the potential horrors of moving away from her small, small hometown.

I read this about 15 years ago and remember really liking it. It is about 4 girls from a small town who are now grown up and have their own careers. but then years later a secret shared among all of them comes back to haunt them. I just remember liking the relationship of the girls in the book and not being able to put it down...

I enjoyed this read about 10 years ago as it took place in the area where my family lived as I finished high school. I could relate to the characters.
