Odette is a woman who has been to hell and back. Twice.
After growing up with her twin sister inside a perverse cult, they manage to escape with nothing but each other. Years later, a psychopath, Jethro, charms his way into her heart. He whisks her away from her sister’s love, and directly into the belly of the beast.
After suffering years of unimaginable abuse by his hands, Odette escapes death for a second time. But when she discovers that her ex has been lurking in her attic, a devious plan of torturous revenge is born. With only her vivid imagination, she sets the score straight when she hunts the hunter.
This is an adults-only, sinister tale of turning the tide and taking back power.
I don‘t even know how to describe this book. It was an uncomfortable read that showed the worst sides of humanity. I am glad that I bought this on sale for only 99 cents because it‘s not worth more than that.
I don‘t mind disturbing books but this one just wasn‘t good.
And getting revenge in the most deliciously dark way she did.
This book is a deliciously dark suspenseful read and definitely earnt it's trigger warnings!
Odette and Margot are twins born into cruelty. Not too much of their childhood abuse is ventured into, as the story ramps up with Odette and focuses on her story with Jethro. He pursues and love bombs her over a period of time and finally manages to ostracize her from her sister. Margot comes back into the story near the end when the twins or "twis" as they call themselves, seamlessly flow back into being close sister's again.
I was thoroughly captivated and couldn't put this book down. I was continually championing for Odette's character, as the traumatized but strong and resilient character she was, who managed to pull herself out of the most awful situation and way she was living.
Near the end I started to feel sorry for Jethro as the antagoniser, as his story unfolded, but had to remind myself of the wickedness in which he subjected Odette to for a long period of time.
Even though this story was short, it felt fuller and I do wish it was longer. It had me hooked and I was looking for more when it finished.
This is the first book I've read of Nico Sorrell and Ivy Graves and I only hope there's more or more in the pipeline, as I was thoroughly hooked and captivated by the world they created.

What a ride. I had the immense pleasure of being an ARC reader for this book. It deserves more than the face stars I gave it. 100% would recommend it to anyone looking for a dark, suspenseful, empowering read! Where do I begin? First off, the way they write in 3rd person pov is fantastic. They seamlessly flow between characters without pulling you from the story. The way they're able to transition from the past to the present was refreshing and certainly noteworthy. I feel like the way this book was written is akin to old Gothic fiction with a modern-day twist. The character ARC of the FMC is something I never expected. It was intense to watch her go from the victim to the Victor, then to become the villain and then the hero. The same goes for the antagonist. You hate him from the start, anticipate his demise, but about halfway through the book, you begin to have sympathy for the devil. I had to constantly remind myself that he is the bad guy, we hate him. Overall, it's one of the best suspenseful books I've ever read!
Just wow. This book definitely earns its trigger warnings. That said i really enjoyed it. Traumatized but strong, resilient women that you have to root for!! This book lets people that have been traumatized empathize and even secretly cheer for the women i think. Then again maybe I’m just a little screwed up lol. I enjoyed this book very much#booktok #excited #arcreader #goodreads
This book is a whole lot of trigger so beware and listen to the warnings about it. Other than that, the story was okay but not really my cup of tea. I think it would be labeled as revenge erotica for the most part. Don't really feel the need to continue on with this series though.
I can't wait for the next book. Hopefully at some point we get more information about the twins childhood. This first book is about and abused women he gets revenge on her pimp. She leaves her twin for her bc that pumps her out. If you like that kinda thing its a read. Not edge on your seat though. I did enjoy it and looking forward for the next book. 😍
Beware this is a graphic and dark book about some very disturbing things. If you cannot handle, you need to pass on this book. Make sure to take the possible trigger warnings seriously. There were sections of the book that are hard to figure out who is speaking/or whose point of view. And, I have a hard time reading third person. Odette and Margot are twins and they have nicknamed themselves Twis. This book is primarily about Odette but does have a few appearances of Margot.
This is definitely DARK. If torture described in detail isn't your thing, maybe avoid this one. That said, I really, really enjoyed the writing. The story was compelling enough that it kept pulling me through. Torture described explicitly is always very hard for me, so much so that I was feeling sorry for the character as they were enduring it-even though they very much deserved it. If Stephen King (horror), Anne Rice (erotica), and Sarah J Maas (strong female characters) did a collaboration, it might feel similar to this story. It's a short story, but felt very full in spite of that.
This one is Dark Dark and I am here for it!!! Ever have a fantasy where you want to destroy those who have hurt you?! Well now is your chance!!!! This is brutal, honest, and down right dirty! Add a little sadistic to it and here’s your story line!!!! 100% recommend but know your triggers because it’s a ride for sure!!!
This is the story of Odette. She became estranged from her twin sister over an abusive man, Jethro, who made her become a prostitute. This part of the story was hard for me to read, but our heroine was not a helpless victim. She took control of her life, and escaped. Then, when the opportunity for revenge presented itself, she took it. We are given graphic details of her sweet revenge. Not for the faint of heart, but satisfying to read.
Towards the end of the story, the twins are reunited, and we are given hints of what might happen in the next book of the series, when the sisters no longer work alone and separately, but together. Quite an interesting premise.
I think I picked this one up in one of the Stuff your Kindle days last year. I was a bit hesitant to start it as it has a pretty awful GR score of 3.07. Reviews are either they absolutely loved it or it was awful. So I decided to give it a shot. And I am glad I did (mostly).
This one has 3 timelines but it is in order of events. Oddette grew up in a very religious cult and sort comfortable in her twin sister until they escaped. If they thought that was bad, Odette had no idea how bad things could be until she cut ties with her sister and moved away with her then boyfriend Jethro. Little did Odette know, Jethro was the worst of all. Odette suffered horrific violence and abuse by the hands of Jethro until she escaped, and then planned to get her revenge.
I think I would have given this 4.5 Stars if it wasn’t for the absolute unnecessary incest.. but anyways.
When I started this book I was like “oh it has 3 stars, it can’t be that bad.”
I was wrong….. it was worse. There was nothing about this book that I liked.
I’m not one to nitpick writing AT ALL. But this writing drove me bonkers. I literally finished it because I refuse to DNF books basically.
I finished and I truly wish I had it in me to DNF.
Bookish people always say that they’re stressed that there are so many books and such little time to read them all. Well this book…..It was truly awful and a waste of my “little time”.
I wanted to rate this higher, but there was the biggest plot hole left undiscussed after it ended. This one point not being brought up really made the whole story seem pointless. Could have gone through some more edits.
This book certainly lived up to its trigger warnings, it was very dark. It really is a revenge book. If detailed descriptions of torture are your thing, this book is definitely for you! I'm not easily triggered, but sometimes I had to clench my buttocks haha.
. Spannender Revenge Horror
