This was my first foray into the world of erotic fiction, and I was quite surprised by the wide and eclectic mix of characters in Dramatic Affairs. Although this is befitting of the storyline, this is a tale of love, loss and vengeance and a number of blush-inducing encounters along the way. There is a large cast of actors in the book, all of whom play their part in the bed and partner swopping that almost everyone was party to.
There is a delicious and malicious intent that starts with two people but then changes and evolves, as is revealed partway through the book. This part of the story really captured my imagination and is a good way for the two main characters to be drawn out of the rest of the group and to really shine. At the same time I felt it also pointed out that whilst there is a lot of fun to be had in the many portrayals of relationship types, really what most people long for is someone to love and devote themselves to, making us happy and fulfilled in all senses.
This book was well written, its characters thought out and fully developed and the storyline of each pulled gently together, so that the torrent of emotion each went through was worth the effort for almost everyone to find some sort of happiness while they were bound together for this short but very intense period of time. This read would perhaps not suit every chick lit reader, but if your interest lies this way then I would recommend adding it to your bookshelves. review by Noemie T Verlan on behalf of BestChickLit.com
