A sudden, violent tornado sends Lachelle careening into the arms of a grumpy, blue-eyed painter working on her Tudor home.
Julius hasn’t felt the touch of a woman in years. He prefers life on his own in the country with his dog.
Most women can’t handle Julius anyway.
He’s too gruff… Too possessive of his women. Too addicted to his lovers once he has them in his clutches.
Most women want something less intense…
When vulnerable divorcee Lachelle joins him in the bathtub to avoid the oncoming twister, his lust takes a dark turn.
Every moment with her, Julius fights his desire to take what he wants from his employer without asking.
With a tiny tub to share and a brutal tornado rearing outside…
All Julius can promise Lachelle is a twisted, turbulent night.

I think this author struggles with balancing personality when developing charactes. Lachelle wasn't likable & acted like a stick in the mud. Her rigidness made her seem older than 40. This author has two settings with her heroines, it's mostly pathetic self loathing "my black skin makes me ugly & unworthy" I'll do anything to breathe the same air as a WM type of heroine or the less frequent character like lachelle who was a rude snob. Why didn't she tell the cop that the ex threw the first punch? Where were her morals? Why not tell the truth? With all that said, I still gave this a high rating simply because it was a departure from the slave play heroines she usually writes.
Main characters: 1. Lachelle Jenkins, heroine, is a 40-year-old wealthy divorcee.
2. Julius Callahan, hero, is a 30 something year-old ex-con and owner of a lucrative house painting business grossing an annual income of $180,000.00.
The heroine, is a bougie, condescending judgmental unlikable argumentative character. This character ruined the story. She seems to have given her ex-husband carte blanche on coming to her house despite her complaining in the presence of Julius. She is wishy-washy and her internal dialogue belies her behavior, ie. when her husband shows up at her house, she wishes for Julius to intervene, her husband throws the first punch, Julius beats his ass but Lachelle doesn't tell the police what happened. When Julius gets out of jail and comes to get his truck and offers to help her board up the house because a severe storm is approaching their area; instead of thanking Julius, she lectures him about his beating up her husband. She continued in this nonsensical manner through out the story until Julius started pounding his Fuji bottle size penis into little dormant virginia. Julius is a thoughtful, affectionate, protective helpful and likable character and the only reason I did not DNF this story or give it a zero minus rating.
From the start, this book takes the reader front and center to the two main character's attraction to the other. There are some things on both ends that do not necessarily make it an ideal situation for them to be mixing it up together, literally.
Naturally, the more Lachelle and Julius engage one another, the more the pressure starts to build between them. Throw in the bug-a-boo of an ex-husband, a tornado, and the palpable sexual tension between an ex-convict painter and the divorced homeowner, and this story will have its reader at the end in no time!
Julius is a good man, a man who treats women right, and expects other men to do the same. Lachelle’s ex-husband is a good man. When he gets to be too much, Julius handles it. Lachelle isn’t used to a good man, it takes a bit for her to get what’s happening. I’m glad she figures it out!
I’m not gonna lie main character was a buzz kill. For once I wasn’t in love with her to begin with but by the end I got where she was coming from and my heart warm up to her. Love the male main character, very rough around the edges but he’s adorable and very real. Would have loved if book was longer but still a great read.
It was a cute short read but the female main character was annoying and childish. Oh my goodness for a mature woman as she liked to call herself she was just a flake and crybaby. I did like the male lead but after her annoying whining I would have just left her. The sex scene was good, brief but good.
Julius and Lachelle was a very interesting couple. I was very glad of the outcome for them. It shows there is hope in the world. Beautiful love story that was extremely hot and spicy 🌶️. You’ll always come through with a great story. Thank you. As always looking forward to the next book.
Julius is just what Lachelle needed in her life after her ex husband. I’m glad he went after what he wanted because he ended up with the love of his life. Glad they got their HEA.
Absolutely epic the writing was on point the characters were so well thought out that I was actually reading this like a movie. As I can picture in my mind Julius and Lachelle very clearly. I enjoyed reading this book . Jamila you did it 👏 .
Loved every second of Julius Callahan. Jamila has done it again!! The tension leading up to Julius finally getting what he wanted is HOT!! MUST READ if you like a man good with hands;-)
Love the zodiac series and Julius and Lachelle had a beautiful story. Loved how he was willing to literally fight to prove how much he wanted to be with her and how a man should stand up for a woman. Jamila did a wonderful job
I appreciate this author for smutty sex scenes which she delivers. 😁 Lachelle's character vacillated in an inconsistent way. She came across as fickle, silly, and unenjoyable. There were also some plot inconsistencies that pulled from the story.
These novellas are everything! I am so loving this zodiac series! Jamila Jasper is the best at what she does! Here's your flowers 💐 my lady! Can't wait for the next one!
I enjoyed the build up between Lachelle and Julius. The chemistry was sexy and the sex scenes were super hot. Lachelle's friend is hilarious. I hope she gets her own story.
Julius and his blk queen . She is an uptight blk lady craving a ruff neck white country boy.he breaks her down and gets her. To be his queen. A must read
