The need for intimacy with others was built into the fabric of our being by the Creator. Donald Joy explains the twelve steps of bonding which occur naturally throughout the world in human relationships. This book explores the formation of relationships, issues surrounding dating and marriage, and the prevention of inappropriate bonds.
I had to read this book for a class but I loved the points it made so much and how it described Godly relationships. So encouraging and helpful to read.
This is worth reading... Although I don't agree with him completely (on quite a few points), there are some really good explanations and connections drawn. Specifically, I appreciated his explanations of pair bonding (American culture often takes this way out of order) and birth bonding (this is incredible stuff!).
This book travels from birth to death the journey of touch, with it's theological and emotional implications, and with practical guidance. Revolutionary for me.
Given to me many many years ago by a Christian Friend, I found things in here about relationships and parenthood that I probably need to revisit, now that I'm a wife and mother.
