Finding herself in a predicament, Bernadette Armstrong needs money and fast.

During their meeting, defense attorney Ford Montgomery suggests an unorthodox approach to paying her ex-boyfriend’s legal fees.

I really liked that it wasn’t a standard rich boy/poor girl trope. Yes, Bernie is down on her luck, but there’s a unique twist.

I absolutely love that Bernie owns her body and designs high-end clothing for plus size women. She is strong and smart in so many ways, but daft in others which made her an overall meh character for me.

Moreover, while not an insta-love per se, the relationships move at warp speed. Given that it was nearly 400 pages, I expected more tangible development.

This was really good! It’s a delicious why choose romance with rich and powerful MMCs and a kind, loving FMC in need of rescue.

I liked the auction idea and thought it was a really fun concept. Each of the MMCs has a unique relationship with the FMC and I appreciated that. There are a lot of really sweet moments.

I LOVED that this had a curvy FMC and how the guys reacted to that. There were a few interactions she had with people (shop assistant and doorman) that were a bit extreme. While prejudice and rude discrimination against overweight women occurs in real life, these scenarios were a bit too extreme to seem realistic. They felt a bit off for the story, although I appreciate the concept and how they contributed to the plot.

Overall, really enjoyable story. Definitely recommend planning to read more by this author.

I Loved this book! I was very excited to get this arc so I started it right away. The story moved along very quickly and it was a great read from start to finish. I won’t give any spoilers but I will say that if you are an RH fan, this book is for you. I rooted for all the characters and the FMC was absolutely amazing! I loved Bernie and her hot as hell triple man team. I inhaled it. The story was so good and omg the spice was beyond nice! I just can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this book. I will definitely be getting a physical trophy of this one for my shelf.

This one started off slow for me, but I ended up liking the FMC more than I usually do in these kinds of stories. I loved the curvy-girl representation and the fact that she’s not a pushover—just a woman who knows what she wants and is willing to *do* a lot for it!

My biggest issue? The narrator for Ford’s parts. His voice was so grating that I almost skipped his chapters altogether just to avoid hearing it. It’s been a while since I’ve had such a strong dislike for a narrator. On the flip side, I loved the narrator for Doctor Ashton—bi-sexual hot doc? Say no more! Reading about Ford and Ashton together was honestly just as much fun for me as it was for the FMC.

Now, about the spice: it was... odd. I’d describe it as "door wide open, staring into a room with no lights on." The dirty talk was dirty, but the actual acts felt more like a friend oversharing than something immersive. As for Emory? He wasn’t bad, but I could have read this whole story without him, and it wouldn’t have made much of a difference. He just didn’t feel like an essential part of the story for me.

I enjoyed this steamy romance. Bernadette's ex-boyfriend (Michael) is a dirty jerk. She finds Ford. He (out of desperation) comes up with the plan to auction herself to the highest bidder. Two hot guys, Ashton and Emerson (Ford's friends) step up. All these men are (for sure) locked in on Bernadette.

This story follows FMC Bernadette Armstrong and MMCs Emery, Ford, and Ashton. Bernadette's ex-boyfriend ends up in jail and stole her designs. In order to fund a lawyer for her ex-boyfriend to get her designs back she has to auction herself at a high-end club. All three men end up agreeing to share her for the month of the auction contract.

The men in this story are just the right amount of alpha and sweetness. It is a total swoon worthy book. I love it so much and didn't want to put it down.

It would have been a 5 star book for me but I felt like the ending was a little rushed. It was a HEA but I wanted more. I also felt like Emery didn't get enough story time and I really loved his character. I felt like a lot of the focus in the middle of the book was about Ashton and Ford and while I loved the development of their relationship I feel like there needed to be more story with the building of the relationship between all four of them.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m surprised at how much I loved it! It was a great read from start to finish and the story flowed really well. It has the perfect amount of romantic suspense, spice and conflict. I loved seeing the relationship between Bernie and her 3 men grow into something that was amazing and they all bring out the good in one another. It was also great seeing their dynamic and how well they all worked for each other and together. If you like reverse harem and MM, I highly recommend!

This review will be about the audiobook mostly, as I was given ALC to review 🖤

So first of all, story is amazing, it is good, flowing well and very easy to listen and I'm sure it would be an easy read as well.
AND the spice, oh lord, count me in!

Narrators voices were amazing and they fit so well together! Absolutely in love with the FMC 😍

But the audio lacked in my own opinion. Sometimes it seemed the narrator changing middle of the sentence, I don't think it was a case but the whole vibe and sound of their voices just changed? 👀

And with my ADHD all the audiobooks are slow but this was extra slow. I normally listen in 1.4x but this I had to do in 1.8x to 2.0x for me to be able to follow.

But did either of those things make the story any less enjoyable? Absolutely not. The story is amazing and this rating in here will be purely about the story. I will not be taking stars from it because the audio lacked.

Author is an amazing in what they do, their stories delivering every time! 🖤

This is hands down one of my favorite why-choose romances! Every time I read a book by Tori Chase or Deborah Garland, I’m amazed by how she create stories that pull you in and make you fall in love with the characters. Her writing always keeps me hooked from start to finish.

This story follows Bernie, a talented plus-size designer, who’s in a tough spot. Her ex-boyfriend Michael, now in prison, stole her designs and is holding them hostage. He gives her one final deal: if she wants her designs back, she needs to get in touch with Ford Montgomery and help get him out of jail. If she doesn’t, her designs are gone for good.

Bernie doesn’t have much choice, so she meets with Ford. But his price for handling the situation is way out of her budget. Instead, he offers her a different kind of deal—she’ll spend a month with his ex, Ash, and his best friend, Emery.

What makes this story so special is how each of these men shows Bernie her true value. They treat her like the incredible woman she is, helping her see herself in a whole new light. The audiobook made the story even more powerful—it brought the emotions to life in a way I didn’t expect. I absolutely adored it!

This book was pure gold 💛
My first dive into "Why Choose" romance came from this series, and I got instantly hooked on the characters. When I saw that the third book from this series was going live, I was so excited and Deborah didn't disappoint.

The story follows Bernie, who we got to know in the last book. She's a plus-size designer now navigating New York, having entrusted her life to her ex-boyfriend Michael, who ends up behind bars for drugs, taking Bernie's designs with him.

Thanks to her awful ex-boyfriend blackmailing her for the designs, Bernie needs to track down the lawyer Ford Montgomery to win her ex-boyfriend's case in order to get her designs back.

Ford's a top-notch lawyer in the city, but he doesn't usually take on pro bono cases like this. However, he's so determined to help Bernie that he comes up with a unique plan. He suggests that she can make some money to pay him by participating in a secret club auction. The catch? His ex-boyfriend Ash and his buddy Emery are among the bidders, vying for the chance to share her for the month. Buckle up for a rollercoaster of emotions and surprises! 🎢

So Bernie's life turns out to be better with these three boys on her hand.
From now point on she will be living with Ford, but he can't have her because of the case with her ex-boyfriend.

1st reading: Amateurish, stilted prose with numerous grammatical and punctuation errors, including misused words (e.g., "blithe" when it should have been "blight"). Predictable plot, but complemented with several subplots. The main characters are a bit better than two-dimensional and demonstrated growth over the course of the novel, but they're still painted with broad strokes.
The dialogue and inner musings of the four different POVs are mostly simplistic and superficial with no finesse whatsoever. While one character's motivations might be considered complex, his behavior is less than subtle. The spicy scenes lack detail and read like they're written in fast-forward, if we see them at all.
This was painful to read. By chapter 3 I was tempted to get a refund, but I decided to stick it out, as I actually *have* read worse. But I fail to understand how this author has managed to win awards. Awards for what? Bad writing? Hard pass on anything else written by this author or under her other name, Deborah Garland.

Sigh... not the good kind

Oh, so many not good things to say. I feel like this author wanted to write a wolf shifter reverse harem omegaverse story but didn't know how, so they threw this out. Then the smut scenes... I'm not sure this author has ever had sex, but if they have, I'm sorry for their experience.  It's either that or this was written in another language and translated horribly into English.  Half the time, the positions didn't make any sense, and neither did the body parts. At one point, one of the male characters asked the female if she came, and her response was too many to count...when? When did that happen because it was barely a page, and no point was a climax even hinted at. I really didn't want to DNF, but with about 200 pages left, i skipped to the epilouge. Though I'm curious about some things, not enough to finish reading. Dont recommend a purchase; rent, or read through Kindle unlmited if you want to put yourself through this.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW.
Shared by the Highest Bidder is a must-listen. Those voices in your ears . . . you won’t be able to stop listening. Narrators Logan Anare, Tyler Griffin, and Gregory Salinas perfectly portray the three Alpha males: unique tone, tenor, accents, and distinctive emotions that match their personalities to the last detail. And Lexi Evans, what can you say except that her breathy portrayal of Bernadette captures the innocence, vulnerability and uncertainty as well as the strength, vitality and burning desire she quickly feels for these men? This author, whether writing as Tori Chase or Deborah Garland, has an amazing talent for making every book raw, rough, exciting, intense, unpredictable and so, so steamy that you’ll need ice water handy, and at the same time making it so sweet, swoony and romantic that you will also need tissues.

Bernadette hasn’t had an easy life, but now she’s all alone and desperate. Her dirtbag, cruel, demeaning boyfriend has been arrested for drug possession and distribution. But somehow on the way to jail he managed to steal her computer, designs and portfolio for her plus-size fashion line. And now he’s blackmailing her to convince exclusive attorney Ford Montgomery to take his case and secure his release before he’ll give Bernadette her property back. She’s been evicted from the apartment, needs her designs to fulfill her career dream in California, and certainly doesn’t have the $300k Ford usually charges. So far, so mostly-run-of-the-mill normal, right?

Well, keep listening. Ford’s suggestion to help her get the money is to auction herself off for 30 days to one of the “gentlemen” at Club Dare. From this point on the story is anything but predictable. It’s surprising, shocking and totally mesmerizing. We’re talking about the uber rich here, men who get what they want, and what they want is often very unconventional. Bernadette had no idea these auctions even existed but she buys into the idea pretty quickly; author Chase sweeps you away to a place you’d never visit in your regular 9-5 life. Bernadette wants her life back, feels an immediate attraction to Ford, and somehow believes he won’t hurt her. And it seems she’s right. Because he can’t bid on her himself, he arranges for Emerson Austin and Ashton Ives to bid an astronomical amount for her and “share” her. Emery is a high-tech CEO who could use an assistant, Dr. Ives needs a woman on his arm for fundraisers, and somehow Ford joins this little group.

There’s lots and lots and lots of steam and heat, every which way and all around. And of course there are complications, backstories, secrets revealed, unexpected emotions and feelings. This foursome just seems to work; they confront issues they were trying to hide, have hurts and hopes like everybody else, and form deep connections. Bernadette seems shy and unaware at times, but she has desires, yearnings, and a basic need to feel better about herself, and that’s just what this trio of often sweet, sometimes ruthless Alphas gives her. And what she gives them.

Shared by the Highest Bidder is a wonderful escape, often wonderfully over the top and outrageous, but Bernadette, Ford, Emery and Ash feel real; they grab you and won’t let go. Thanks to author Tori Chase for providing an advance listening copy of this book as part of her advanced reader/listener team. Chase/Garland has become an automatic buy, go-to author for me. This was an entertaining, totally satisfying story and I can’t wait for whatever is next. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

As a budding fashion designer with the opportunity for a plus-sized range, Bernie's designs are of the utmost importance; however, her scumbag ex is holding them hostage in return for her getting him a lawyer and getting him out of prison, where he is currently being held on drug offences. This is how Bernie finds herself meeting Ford, who offers to help, but his work comes at a hefty fee. However, now homeless and jobless after her ex's arrest, Bernie hasn't got the funds, and that's when Ford suggests she offer herself in an auction. While Bernie's ex intended to hurt her with his antics, pushing her towards Ford and the auction may just turn out to be the best thing to ever happen to her.


It's at the auction that Ash and Emery are introduced. Ash is Ford's ex, and Emery is their friend. Ford asks them to bid on her to help her get the money to pay him, but he asks them to keep it strictly platonic and non-sexual with her. Only one look at her in all her curvaceous glory, and all three men are goners who start a bidding war until, as the book title suggests, they decide to share her.


This book was such a fantastic read; it encapsulated so much within it, with everything from heartbreak and hurt to the need for revenge, love, lust, and lots of humour. It would be easy to assume a book about a woman sold at an auction would be pure spice, and while there was a lot of spice, there was also so much more within the storyline. Ford and Ash's relationship is explored in great detail, from how they were secretly a couple to their breakup and the effect it had on both of them to how they are now reconnecting with the help of Bernie. The use of the different characters' POVs here really helped me get an understanding of the character's thoughts and feelings and see that some of the things said and done were due to anxieties and doubts. It made me soften up towards the two characters and fall a little in love with them, even if Ford had an alpha-style personality and took charge. Emery was also a strong dominant type who wasn't usually one to commit, but he saw something different in Bernie, which would be great if he wasn't sharing her with Ash and Ford. He showed some real vulnerabilities in the book, which made him seem much more human and relatable. Then we have Bernie herself, who is a firecracker of a character; she's bright and bubbly, and everyone who seems to meet her (except some spiteful witches) loves her, and she makes it easy to see why. The positivity surrounding her plus-sized body was refreshing to read and made me feel like, as a plus-sized lady, I was seen.

A curvy FMC and three super sexy, accomplished men who adore her? Sign me up. I have had this series on my TBR for a while but when I got the chance to listen to the audio of this book, I jumped at it. I love a why choose story, and this one had such a good story. I was constantly walking around with my headphones on because I just wanted to continue the story. I thought that each of the characters had something that made me love them and a why choose story where there is not just a connection between the woman and the men, but also between at least two of the men. I thought that the back story between the characters added to the story and the underlying plot that pushed the story kept me engaged and hanging on.
I loved the characters and thought each one brought something to the story. My absolute favorite was Ford. As a veteran who is a lawyer and tends to be an alpha, I absolutely connected to him. His connection with Ash warmed my heart and I loved how they reconnected after not talking for months because of Bernie. I wanted to protect Bernie and my favorite was how defensive each of the men got when someone tried to say anything bad about her. I love a story where the MMCs recognize just how sexy a curvy woman is. Emory and his connection with his daughter was so cute and I love how soft he could be with her and then how dominant he could be with Bernie.
I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and it is so important to have good narrators or you easily lose all interest in the story. A book can have a good plot, but with bad narrators, the listener can easily lose interest. Each of the narrators for this book did so well. Their pacing was nice and I felt that they did a great job of embodying the character that they voiced. This was a great audiobook and a huge part of that was how well the narrators did.

This book was spicy, and the story was very good. I love a good why choose and I am a big fan of storylines with an auction. There were a few times I got stuck analyzing the court case for Michael because I am a lawyer, but I thought the author did a good job with the legal aspect as well. I loved each of the characters and this is definitely a book that would be worth reading a copy or listening to the audio. I never felt like I wanted to stop listening and was even a little sad when it ended.

I was absolutely ecstatic when I received the email confirming that I had been selected to receive an ALC (Advanced Listening Copy) of Shared by the Highest Bidder by Tori Chase, an MMMF story. From the moment I started listening, I couldn’t stop blushing and kicking my feet over those “special scenes.” I have zero regrets about signing up for this, and I highly recommend it! The narrators truly understood the assignment and delivered an incredible performance that brought the story to life.

As for the plot, I absolutely loved how it turned out. The attention to detail and character development was top-tier for me. What stood out the most was how the story celebrated the unique beauty of plus-size women. It perfectly showcased the message that we are all beautiful and strong, which made me adore the FMC, Bernadette, even more. I deeply resonated with her, especially her artistic side, as I’m an artist myself. I’ve designed dresses since I was a kid, and becoming a prominent fashion designer has always been a dream of mine. Bernadette’s determination to fulfill her dreams, the sacrifices she was willing to make, and the risks she would take to achieve her goals really spoke to me.

And let’s not forget the three men (Emery, Ash, and Ford). Oh my gosh, don’t even get me started on those gorgeous characters! I swear, there were moments I almost forgot they were fictional, especially when I caught myself feeling a little jealous over Bernadette’s interactions with them. Honestly, I wish I was Bernadette!


The balance of angst and spice in this story was perfection. It’s so well-written, and I rarely hand out five-star ratings, but this one truly deserves it. I couldn’t stop smiling while listening, and I have to warn you—do not listen to this in public unless you want to struggle with keeping a straight face during those parts!

Tori Chase absolutely nailed this story, and I’m so grateful I got the chance to experience it. I’m already looking forward to receiving more ALCs in the future, and I hope to discover another masterpiece like this one. If you haven’t yet, make sure to add Shared by the Highest Bidder to your audiobook list—you won’t regret it!

ARC BOOK REVIEW

I am so happy that I got to ARC read this book. It was absolutely amazing, and I fell right in love with the story and its characters straight away. I am 100% going to be reading more books from this author as I loved Tori's writing so much.

The story follows Bernadette, whose ex is blackmailing her to help him get out of prison with holding her fashion designs hostage somewhere. So, in her time of need, she is forced to go and hire him a very, very expensive criminal defence lawyer, Ford. Ford was so captivating as soon as we met him, and throughout the book, I just fell more and more in love with his character, and luckily, he did say yes to helping Bernie out. Only the fee is that big that Ford comes up with an idea to take Bernie to this club where men can auction on a woman for a month, and he sets his plan in place.

Unknown to Bernie, Ford gets his best friend's Emery, who is a CEO tech Billionaire and Ashton, who is a children's doctor and also Ford's past lover to bid on Bernie After coming to a conclusion, Emery and Ashton decide to split the fee and share her for the month. She becomes Emery's assistant and attends events with Ashton.

The book moved on to where we see things heating up between Bernie and her men. This book is seriously hot and spicy and just an amazing book to read. Seeing their relationships grow with each other was amazing and then the fact that these 3 men inspired Bernie's creative flow back into her was just perfect and really solidified to me that they are meant to be together.

The plot for this book was so good, and I think it is perfect for these characters. They all inspired something good in one another, and it was not just all about the spice. The fact that Ashton and Ford healed their relationship due to Bernie being someone they both wanted proves this as well. I can't describe how much i loved this book. If you love reverse harem, billionaires, and MM, then you are sure to love it!

They also agree to Ford’s demand that they don’t touch her unless she asks for it. It isn’t long before things are heating up between the four of them!

Let me tell you I devoured this book. I loved that Ford took on the role of alpha even if he did get in his own way a little bit. Ashton is the dreamiest and sweetest doctor. Emery is a confident and mature CEO. I loved all three of these men for different reasons. Bernadette is a curvy bombshell who isn't afraid to show the fashion industry how to dress plus size bodies. I loved that she wasn’t shy with Victoria when she taught her how to use the new software app to create designs for curvy women.

Tori Chase is a new to me author and I will definitely be adding her books to my TBR. Shared By The Highest Bidder is Book 3 in the Forever Our Girl series. This series is interconnected however the books can definitely be read as a standalone. Oh and one more thing, the epilogue. Tori has me hooked and I cannot wait to read My Pucking Crush, a MM hockey mafia romance coming in 2024!

After a bidding war breaks out Bernadette ends up with not one but two men, Dr. Ashton Ives and Emery Austin. Now for an entire month she is to do whatever they want her to. Ford isn’t going anywhere either though, he is extremely attracted to Bernadette and has a complicated past with Ashton. As this foursome spends more time with each other they quickly realize one month won’t be long enough, so what will they do once the contract is up?

I really enjoyed Shared By The Highest Bidder. The relationship between Bernie, Ford, Ashton and Emory was sweet and spicy. I love anytime there is MM in the harem and the spice between Ford and Ashton was definitely a nice addition. One of my favorite things about why choose is that each character is bringing something different to the relationship. Bernie was strong and independent, trying to make a name for herself as a fashion designer. Ford was the alpha who orchestrated everything, Ashton was the kind and caring doctor, and Emory was the possessive billionaire CEO. I loved the banter between this crew which was brought to life wonderfully by the full-cast.

Shared By The Highest Bidder is narrated by Lexi Evans, Gregory Salinas, Logan Anare and Tyler Griffin. This was a dual narrated audiobook and the cast did a great job delivering a unique voice for each of the characters that accurately portrayed their personality.

Bernadette is a young woman who is being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend, Michael, who is currently in jail for drug charges and has stolen her designer sketches. Forcing her to get him a high power lawyer that will help him get out of jail.

Bernadette meets Ford Montgomery, the high-power lawyer, who convinces her to sell herself in an auction to pay off his lawyer fees that this case would require.

Turns out Ford, Emery(billionaire tech CEO), & Ash(billionaire NYC Dr. That performs pro bono surgeries on helpless children) (AKA: Fords best friends, & Ash also happens to be his former lover) both men bet on Bernie and all 3 fall in love with her because she is obviously a gorgeous, curvy redhead. This book is packed with spice. The anticipation of Bernadette’s fun with all three men is definitely equally spread out within the 380ish pages, but I will say once we finally get to the good parts, the spice between her, Ford, and Ash feels incredibly rushed, including the times that only involved Ford & Ash.

BUT the spicy scenes between her and Emery really stand out, compared to all others, which really made me like him the most by the end of the book. Ash is really just there. There’s not much that I can say that would convince you that I loved him or disliked him, but Ford is an interesting one. I wanted to love him so much, his character is quite manipulative. In some cases it feels heartwarming that he wants to protect Bernadette, but majority of the time it feels incredibly overpowering and possessive, and not in a good way…

All in all once we finally get to the end of the book, she’s happy and in love with three men, which in a perfect world shouldn’t that be all a woman could ever want? The answer is yes.

It all begins with Bernadette left in a predicament that was orchestrated by her now known as her former ex-boyfriend and leading her to the one man who can help get her life and fashion designs back, Ford Montgomery. Ford is known as a hotshot lawyer in NY but when a stellar record comes we a stellar price that Bernadette cannot afford. A quick fix set up by Ford takes her to be the next prize of a discreet club’s auction. Ford makes sure she is being sold off to someone he trusts but what happens when one look at Bernie has both his friend and his ex setting an all out bidding war for her time. They do the next best thing and decide to share her but with one simple rule set by Ford, both men are not allowed to touch her for the month of their contracted time. Rules are quickly broken by Ford, then Ash, and Emery which takes this a couple weeks of temporary feel like it could be forever. Hurt, pain, lust, desire, need, fear, and beautiful devotion for each other. All three men lay all their feelings and wants out on the table for Bernie to decide what she wants. Will Bernie decided to take the designs she lost and leave to California like she originally planned or will she decide to stay and embrace the love given to her by these three hot men? The spice between Ford and Ash was too good and just Bernadette with everyone especially Emery was too good!

Only, his friends (Dr. Ashston Ives & CEO Tech Billionaire Emerson Austin) end up fighting over her and before she knows it she has all three men in her life, but it’s only for one month….she can do anything for one month right? As long as Ford can get her work back she’ll be set…unless he has an ulterior motive…

I really enjoyed this book! I loved all the characters and was rooting for them throughout the entire story. I really felt for Bernie - having her work stolen was heart breaking. I did love how all three guys supported her and really helped set her up for potential success on her own. She really found her voice and I loved seeing her confidence grow.

I loved the second chance aspect to Ford and Ashton’s relationship and how that played out and affected the group. Ford is the alpha in the group, Ash is very sweet and Emerson is a little older and more set in his ways. I loved the scene with Emerson at the art store and Ash taking her shopping 🛍️ There are some seriously steamy scenes in this book! Bernie has intense chemistry with Ford right from the beginning and it is 🔥

Each character also has some baggage and Bernie really helps them work through that. If you like Why Choose books, definitely give this a read!

I really enjoyed reading Shared By The Highest Bidder(Forever Girl Book 2)!!! All about Bernadette Armstrong is twenty-six years old and a fashion designer of plus-sized clothes & Ford Montgomery a forty year old Lawyer who is bi, Dr Ashton Ives who is forty is bi is a multimillionaire & Emery Austin a CEO owns his own company called Tri-Tech and is a dad who is divorced. Bernie meets Ford when she goes to his law firm to hire him to get her ex-boyfriend Michael off from drug charges. Unfortunately she does not have the money needed to pay his fee. She’s extremely distraught because the ex is blackmailing her to hire Ford, he stole all her sketches, laptop and complete line of casual plus-sized clothing that she created. Ford agreed to help her, but she must auction herself first to get the down payment. At the privates men’s club she is one of six girls being auctioned off. Ford speaks with two friends Ash & Emery and ask that they bid on Bernie for no less than three hundred K, so she can pay his legal fees. Dr Ives agrees, Emery decides he wants Bernie for himself, he bids five hundred and fifty thousand for her and wins the bid. The club gets twenty %, Ford get three hundred K and Bernie gets a hundred & fifty K to put toward art supplies and a new laptop to start creating a new line of plus-sized clothing. Read about Bernie, Ford, Ash & Emery as they navigate a relationship for a mouth in NYC. See how a plus-sized woman goes to social/benefit events on the arm of a wealthy doctor, works as a personal assistant to the CEO at Tri-Tech durning the day and stays with a grumpy overbearing lawyer at night. This book had everything I love in a Why Choose novel!

After her terrible ex decided to hold her designs hostage unless she gets him the best lawyer possible, Bernadette ends up on an auction block to raise the funds to pay for said lawyer. Ford, the lawyer, knows some of the men who frequent these auctions and knows just who to ask. Ash is a doctor and needs someone on his arm for the month for his many galas raising funds to help those who can't afford care. Emery wants a woman to play with, but will settle for having her as his personal assistant when Ford insists that sex is off the table. Only, he's the first to break even though he wasn't in the bargain at all. And winning Ash back wasn't in the plans either, but with Bernadette there showing both of them what they want most was possible made it all better. Emery was just an added bonus, especially because he was never going to fall in love again. So what happens when the month's over, Bernadette has her designs back, and she still plans on leaving New York?

Bernadette and her men get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.

Even though not all the men were together in this Why Choose, two of them were, and that is my favorite kind of Why Choose! Bernadette's ex was a slimy guy, and I'm glad that he'll be locked up for a long time and that she was able to upgrade to three great men! I do wonder how often all four of them had sexy times together, as it didn't seem like Emery was that comfortable being naked with other men if he didn't have some alcohol in him. But I could see him being more open to it due to his love for Bernadette. I loved Garland's Astoria Royals series, and I love that her writing style as Tori Chase is just as fantastic!

This book I was expecting this book to have spice but I was not expecting it to have all of this heat. Let’s just say you’re gonna need more than a cold cup of water to cool down from this book. It’s really good and it doesn’t disappoint.
You have a scum bag who goes and takes and uses a kind hearted woman who is looking for her start and used and blackmailed. But if it wasn’t for him she would’ve never met Ford and he wouldn’t have introduced her to Ash and Emery. These 3 men are all looking for something and Bernadette not only brings them together but is able to help them heal from the past and build a relationship that not many would accept. And eventhough she is shared they each have a name to make her feel special Ford called her Sugar, Ash called her Baby and Emery calls her Sweetheart. She also brings something to each of the guys that fulfills them. The plot with this book not only is there three guys but also she has a month with all 3 of these guys, and after that she is supposed to move to California and work for her best friend but will these 3 find a way for her to stay in New York? This book has a plot and a character your going to hate and 3 men who are really hot and your ideal man and they only have eyes for Bernadette who is this strong woman who has the kindest heart and how she not only brings the best in the guys out but also she finds more strength and finally breaks her design/drawing block and once it’s unlocked the ideas don’t stop. This book is full of steam and so much that it really gets hot so it’s not only spicy but hot as well. It’s a fun but spicy and hot read.

i remember liking the first two of these way more than this one. this one is maaaaybe a 2.5??

the plot is interesting enough, the whole frame story with bernie’s ex and her drawings is relatively compelling.

it’s kinda muddied in the middle there by some sex scenes that have a lot of potential, but not as much follow through as i would’ve liked. there’s also just a handful of descriptions/mannerisms/word choices that just feel kind of off.

if i never go another day in my life without seeing the line “i don’t make love…i fuck, hard” it’ll be too fucking soon. it was cliche and tacky in 50 shades and it’s even worse 15 years after the fact.

plus, some of these character choices are incredibly weird. ford’s whole scheme to essentially blackmail her into staying with them?? fucked up. (thankfully he doesn’t follow through, but the fact that he’s pissed at her ex for stealing her designs feels incredibly disconcerting since he’s planning to do the same thing, just in a different way.

and bernie pushing emery’s boundaries by getting all sad and weird about wanting all 3 of them together despite emery saying he’s not sure he’s comfy with that? bad. not to mention, when she decides she wants to sleep with the three of them at once, she asks ford and ash for it first without asking emery about how he feels about it. like…we’re all rooting for the FMC to get what she wants, but not at the expense of pushing other people to do things they don’t want to do.

all in all, it was fine, but there just wasn’t anything here that really grabs you and keeps you invested. it also drags a bit in the middle.
