This book is the personal account and story of John G. Lake in his own words. His testimonies of faith in the healing power of God and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit will challenge you to reach a new level in your spiritual walk.
"Jesus promised that the Last Days would be marked by greater works than He Himself had wrought." (John G. Lake, Adventures in God)
I heard about this book while I was reading another book and decided to find it online. The copyright expired, so I knew it would be in the public domain. Luckily it was, I found a version here: https://daniellovett.files.wordpress....
Unfortunately, this version had many spelling errors in some places, so I am thinking that the person who transcribed it didn't have their coffee before doing so. Nevertheless, this book was awesome. John G. Lake is one of the greatest healing evangelists ever known. I said, "one of the greatest" as God has raised up many more healing evangelists who came before and after him. He was very unique in that he was a doctor and was a Canadian who later moved to the United States. He began his ministry in Spokane Washington. You can find more information about him by doing a google search.
God used John G. Lake to bring healing to many. He opened healing rooms and was a missionary to Africa. He tells of how God supernaturally supplied his and his families needs during his ministry. He believed in the provision of God. That God provides provision for the vision. He recounts in this book how whenever a need arised in his ministry, he would pray and God would supernaturally supply. Praise God.
One of the greats of the faith and worthy to be studied and imitated.
Adventures in God is a short book full of amazing stories about God's power for healing in the ministry of John G. Lake. Lake is said to have been involved in thousands of documented healings during his life. Adventures in God is autobiographical, part memoir and part preaching, designed to encourage and inspire the reader to greater faith in God.
The stories of healing are truly amazing, but so are some of the incidental stories, like how Lake took his family from the USA to South Africa with only a few dollars. God miraculously provided every step of the way, including a house when they arrived.
I'd encourage any Christian to read it - you'll be inspired.
This is great for people believing for big miracles.
I wanted to get back to hearing audiobooks and I liked this one, but for some reason it didn’t catch my full attention. I don’t know if it was the book itself or the narrator or that I’m just done with audiobooks.
I also wanted to hear the stories of the miracles that happened with the bubonic plague but he never mentioned these, so I assume he wrote this book earlier?
This book has encouraged the fire of the Holy Spirit that is in me to grow like wild fire. The testimonies explained in here really challenge one who loves God to not settle for normal healings....But a reminder that God is able to do the impossible!
LOVE this / resulting prayer is Lord, let it happen today... Lord send us Christians that will BEGINE to Believe that YOU will do today what you promised you'll do & let those of us that believe begin to act on that belief enabling your Spirit to do what only it can do when FAITH is acted on... in JESUS name -
“Dear friends, men in the Word of God were guided by the Voice of God. God talked to them. This is the inner thing of real Christian experience, the reason men seek by the grace of God to enter into the real heart of God into the real soul of Jesus Christ into the place where He lives within you where His Voice speaks in your heart.”
John g lake had an amazing ministry .he proves over and over that healing is still available to us today.from Canada to Africa GOD met his needs.great signs and wonders followed himand miracles were the norm.so enjoyed the book. Highly recommend it.
This is unlike other books by and about John G. Lake in that it tells of many supernatural occurrences. You will be moved by how he moved in the power of the Holy Ghost. Enjoy!
This is a short but faith stirring book, it’s filled with short stories of some of God’s workings and miracles in the life of John G. Lake. I encourage every believer to read this book it will encourage your faith and stir you up to seek the Lord in earnest.
This is a wonderful book to build faith in God, and to pursue your healing. I love hearing testimonies of those that have been healed and of the miraculous. I much enjoyed this.
A fascinating peak into the life of John G. Lake. This short book is somewhat scattered, mentioning several anecdotes in quick succession with only brief context, yet his accounts carry a simplistic authenticity about them.
It has a collection of some of the amazing testimonies which will make you jump in excitement... these people were experiencing all these like 100 years back ...made me think if we moved forward or backward in time...
Life changing book. Great testimonies details mentioned to uplift your faith in Christ. God is same yesterday , today and forever. There is hope for revival in today’s world.
Healing is still seen as a questionable subject. The great commission clearly calls us to pray for the sick. This book simply encourages faith in our awesome God.
Powerful and very informative on the power of the Holy Spirit and showing the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus and proving that we only need to have faith in God
Short book, but anything by John G. Lake should be read! He's been such an inspiration to me and challenges my faith to grow deeper when ever I read his stuff.
Testimonial book of the ministry of John G Lake highlights of miracles that occurred during his ministry including a timeline and photos a very inspiring read
Wow to testimonies of God's provision and healing in Lake's life. Also, appreciated Lake's positive, sound words about the Hope of God to lovingly touch any need with His Life.
A testimony of how Lake (one of sixteen children) who had lived his childhood with at least one invalid present in his family. Eight of his family members passed away before he heard that God heals in the present and healing did not pass away with the apostles.
After marriage, his wife became ill and alternated between fainting spells and being bedridden. After he heard that the healing power of God was available in the present through prayer, he prayed and saw four members of his family healed; including his brother who had been an invalid for 22 years; his sister who just died, but was healed and obtained life; and his wife was healed.
Lake never sought to have a healing ministry. After people heard of his wife's healing, people just showed up at their house to ask questions about her sickness and her healing, the Lake's would pray for the visiting enquirers and they would be healed.
Lake talks about having a life of consecration and a life of dominion over sickness and disease. Lake said when we read something in the Bible or hear a testimony of God working in someone now, we can walk/receive it too. God wants our soul to experience intimacy with Him and walk with Him in a present living reality.
Lake refused to be elevated above others, but considered himself equal to others and chose to refuse a hardness of heart, to walk in kindness and mercy, to be a peacemaker, to glorify God through obedience to the principles of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit and live to demonstrate the righteousness of God in all he did.
This book is testimony after testimony of God's kindness in healing others. It also has the testimony of what he lived through with his family and how that birthed a compassion for people and a hatred for sickness and how it robbed people. His focus was God and bringing Him glory and seeing people set free from the bonds of sickness. This book was very honest, not hyperbole, and very encouraging.
