Writing is searching within yourself to draw on your feelings, dreams, and insecurities in the hopes that your readers will relate and feel what your characters are experiencing. Searching for the right combination of words to paint the picture each scene needs is a long and mentally exhausting process.

I often feel drained by this process and when I am mentally tired, I can't force myself to sit down at the keyboard. Even now, as I try to show you what is in my head and heart, I feel anxious and weary.

Despite this, when I come to the end of each journey, there is a feeling of so much accomplishment. Everything my characters did and felt is in some way related to me and who I am, who I want to be, or who I wish I never had been. When I make it through, when I write the final words on the final draft before publication, I feel like I've shed an outer shell and renewed myself...until the process starts again.

The more I write, the more I read...

Duplicitous… A desperate husband… A cheating wife… A missing child… What starts out as a “routine” case quickly becomes so much more … As Detectives Brady and Raynes delve deeper into the case, aided by an unexpected ally, bodies start to pile up and the case takes on sinister, international implications! Jam packed with espionage, action and more betrayals than firecrackers on New Year’s Eve, “Duplicitous” is a fast paced mystery thriller that had me completely engaged! Extremely well plotted with highly defined, diverse characters that grew and changed as the plot twisted and turned, I was constantly on edge, waiting, wondering what the next developments would bring! I felt so bad for Nathan as he desperately tried to find out what was going on with his wife, and if his daughter was alive and safe. I felt his desperation! I felt the frustration of the detectives, and all who were charged with the investigation. I felt the tension! I felt their pain and rage as losses occurred, and their bittersweet joy at the resolution. I cringed at some of the very realistic portrayals of the world of espionage, so very necessary to making this plot work, which it did magnificently! I loved some of the characters, loathe a few, but had strong feelings about ALL! Each character was fully developed, their personality complete, their backstory presented and interwoven into the story in a way that enhanced the story! I can’t say enough about this brilliant writing! This story, THIS story, is a wild ride through a constantly changing world of police procedure, espionage, human emotion, greed and revenge! I was invested every single second! The author’s vision was vibrantly brought to life through clear, beautifully paced, emotionally satisfying narration, making this production a five star listen across the board. It was truly stunning! I loved it!

gripping story with a number of surprises

I really enjoyed this book. I could imagine it being made into a TV series on Netflix. The story is an old one, family secrets, missing girl, 2 detectives, but it is executed perfectly.
