It takes but a few weeks to form a habit. Readers of the rerelease of 31 Days of Prayer can form a prayer habit that lasts a lifetime with this beautiful and practical devotional. Authors Ruth and Warren Myers show readers how to grow in prayer, even if the amount of time set aside seems small at first. The book guides believers through prayer for thirty-one days, allowing for personalized prayer that reflects individual circumstances and areas for spiritual growth. 31 Days of Prayer leads readers step by step into praying about what is close to their hearts and God's.
I wanted to read at once, but I knew I had to follow the schedule, so I just read one day at a time; this book it's really good because it guides us to pray for every single area of our lives. I never thought that it was necessary to pray for diverse aspects of my life but now I know and I will expand my prayers to many things that I didn't know that it was important for me to pray for.
I recommend this book to everyone that wants to learn how to pray, or to everyone who wants to practice a prayer.
I liked this book, and I believe that I will read it again in the future.
This is an AWESOME book. I enjoyed reading the daily prayers and for the most part it was right on track with I was going through in my personal life. If you desire a deeper prayer life and to grow stronger in Christ, then this is the book for you. It gives you different ways to pray and prayer targets for whom you should pray for, what to pray for, and how to pray. Almost every page of this book is highlighted and I am thankful for the scriptures to focus to read and meditate on as well. So glad to have this book and that I started for the first month of the new year.
Get this book!!! Use it as a part of your bible studies, or within your ministries!!!
This book was free from my church. There are great ideas for prayer in here, refers heavily to Andrew Murray. Really enjoyed part III "Ways to Grow In Prayer". Liked it for a change, but going back to The Power of a Praying Wife next month.
This is a book that I have had for several years but only began to use it a couple of months ago. I think this book helped me in becoming more focuse in my praying. Again this is a book I will return to again and again.
I do love prayer devotional because they bring to light things I need to pray for and how to pray for them. This had lots of quotes from Andrew Murray, whom I really love. This was very lovely and I would like to do it again in the future.
I actually take longer than 31 days to read through this book in my devotion time (I use it every few years). At the end of each day's prayer focus are Scriptures, and I take a few days to read and pray slowly through them before moving on to the next section. It is an excellent guide and has helped me tremendously, especially in the area of praying Scripture for others. It has also helped me remember missionaries, as well as those who suffer for their faith around the world.
Talk of a well-crafted prayer book and this one fits the bill perfectly.
The visually appealing layout and the well-chosen scripture-filled prayers complement this work; making it worth the 31-day-journey.
It's an excellent resource for all who struggle with the Christian discipline of prayer. It will certainly expand your vision of what you ought to pray for and how to expect answers from God.
A great book for disciplining yourself in prayer. There are plenty of things to prayer for, and I think this book touches on a lot of the ways you can pray for others. It can also help in giving you an idea of how much you can ask God for. Miracles and guidance are some things you can pray for and believe God will answer for you (John 15:5, James 1:5-8). I would recommend using it as a tool for discipling yourself to pray daily.
All of the books by Ruth Myers are top notch and I highly recommend them. I have the Praise, Prayer, and Power. I have even bought some of the books referenced by Andrew Murray and I wasn't disappointed in those either. I'm an avid reader and researcher of all things Christ. These are great devotionals and ways to connect in times of prayer. Don't miss out on this one!
A rich daily prayer companion! The author's insights and application of biblical truths to prayer are a helpful way to focus your prayer time. She outlines requests to pray for each day and guides the reader/prayer to better understand the heart of God, His love for the world, and His care for us.
Simple little book, but it was nice reading through the different prayers as a change of pace from what I normally do. I especially loved the insights at the end of the book -- specifically, praying whether I "feel" like it or not!
An ok book. Fairly easy read. I think this would be a good book for new Christians to read as well as a good refresher even for some of us more seasoned Christians.
