Okay, to anyone looking for that fabulous read, new author or something that just too good to put down. I have discovered a wonderful Irish author, Morag Prunty. I have now read four of her novels in a row, and just finished her first novel she ever wrote, "Wild Cats and Colleens." Her voice is fresh, fun and incredibily humorous in a way I've never quite read in a novel before. She brings her inside knowledge from her past experience in real life to all of her fun characters (most of her books deal with PR girls, editors, and Magazines, wihich I absolutely love reading). This book was just too delicious to put down. I re-read my favorite excerpts. My favorite character was a wannabe novelis, Liam that is an assistant to the wealthy Mr. Power. Lorna the head of her own PR firm in Dublin, then there's Gloria with her hair solan and more characters that fill out this novel beautifully. What I love about this book, each character is flawed in realistic ways you as the reader can relate to, and you just really want to see them all win in the end. There's a fabulous party at the ending where all worlds converge, and I've never not wanted a book to just not be over. I wanted so much to fall in love with this book despite the ratings. It was a cheap read that I picked up from a local used bookstore a while back. I felt that there were too many characters introduced and too many storylines to try to follow. It is pretty sad that the jacket of the book indicated "Laura" as one of the main characters when there is no "Laura" but a "Lorna" in the book. Someone slacked on their job with that one! The slang was very different from what I am used to. I grew aggravated that a lot of statements were Capitalized Like This. I feel like the ending was too rushed to try to close up all of the storylines. I almost gave up because I wasn't that interested anymore but I pushed through to finish it. If everything would have flowed together much better I would have liked it more. It was interesting enough overall but not worth three stars to me.

An American billionaire decides he needs to honor his recently passed mom by marrying an Irish girl. We then follow the intertwined lives of Sandy, Gloria, Lorna, and Maeve in their struggles to find love or have love find them.

The way the 3 main women are meshed seems effortless and evidences the the first effort novel was really well thought-out. The quirky characters are endearing and make the chapters fly along. The happy ending for all could have been too much, but somehow works in this case. Learning the meaning of the title was also worth the read!

Xavier hires Lorna to find him an Irish wife. The subplots reminded me of Sex and the City and some of the British Chick Lit books.
Favorite characters: Lorna - Dublin P.R. queen; Gloria - hairdresser; Sandy - radio journalist; Xavier - billionaire; Liam - Xavier's assistant; Flame - Gloria's x-husband's lover; Paddy Wallop - Ag millionaire.
