A Cozy mystery so well written with an array of familiar vibrant, colorful, quirky and charming characters but of course this wouldn't be a mystery without a horrible schemer hidden within. While the array of characters will draw you in it's a diabolical plot that will have you intrigued turning page after intriguing page. Something feels off, but Alex wasn't quite sure what it was if it wa splitting her time between two homes or was it something closer to this particular island home that she'll find betrayal, secrets and murder. Once I began reading this marvelous cozy I became entranced unaware of the passage of time around me turning intriguing page after page until I'd reached its unexpected and climatic conclusion. Acquire " Mending Mischief " :A Quilting Cozy Mystery for hours of intriguing and enjoyable entertainment.Kat

Missing meatloafs and murder.

Hawk is finishing up the remodeling of the house on Madras Island while Alex is busily working on her paper quilt for the show back in Massachusetts. Everything is moving along nicely until Mimi announces that mollusks are going missing. It may be Alex’s island but does that make the meatloaf-resembling chitons her responsibility? Apparently so, according to Mimi. It’s time for the interns and construction workers to leave the island. The approaching storm is making leaving hazardous and a dead body on the beach only adds to the difficulties.

I like this cozy series. The characters are relatable and the plot kept me guessing. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

I can’t tell you how long I was waiting to read Mending Mischief . I wasn’t disappointed. Hawk is finishing the remodelling on Madras Island , Alex is working on her paper quilt for the show in Massachusetts. There’s a storm brewing and there’s an eagerness to get the construction workers off the island before it it’s . Then there’s the matter of a dead body on the beach by the ocean ….just when she thought she’d left the life of sleuthing behind , it comes up and sets her cognitive gears in motion … There’s strange goings on and crustaceans going missing , so Alex is on the hunt for the thief. Brilliant as always by Kathryn Mykel , easy reading , cosy and comfortable , fast paced and entertaining reading. The writing sublime and the descriptors perfect. I read an advance copy of the book and I’m leaving my review voluntarily in my own thoughts

Alex is on Nona's island and she and Hawk are busy building their forever home. The island has a lab that is run by Mimi and studies mollusks that look like meatloafs and suddenly it seems some are missing. In the middle of trying to find out where they might have gone, the lab assistant is found murdered, but due to a Hurricane that is on the way no one can help. Mimi gets into her submarine, shades of captain nemo, and finds the bad guy. This was a fun story and I received a copy as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Alex seems to ripping the seams out of the quilt that is her life again and again as she works to piece things together, once again

does she belong in Massachusetts in her childhood home? on the island? back to New York? somewhere else? perhaps some combination of various elements?

as dark deeds and winter and wicked weather threaten the island, can the folks and the fragile ecosystem survive?

intense whodunnit and finding herself and her calling series if adventures and romance

This is the sixth book in the series. The main character is Alex. Alex is now living on a island that belonged to Nona. She got so much when Nona died. The island has seemed like a haven until now. There is a storm brewing and mollusks are being taken. Alex is trying to finish a quilt before going back to the mainland to do up a quilt show that Nona had started. Now the storm is close and they can't leave the island. Only they now have a dead body and no way to get any help until after the storm. Can they figure this out and stay safe or are they not going to make it?

Alex is settling into life on the island where Hawk is supervising finishing touches on Alex's house. Her chosen family is there...and Alex is still getting mysteries from Nona! Mysteries with chitons and eventually, a dead body, and a destructive storm are just some of the adventures in this book. This was an entertaining read and I look forward to what comes next. I received a free advance copy and this is my honest review.

That was definitely a crazy weather adventure on Madras Island! Will Alex’s ever think of this island as paradise again? I like her friends on Madras a lot and how Henrietta’s filled the void in Alex’s life when she needs a hug like Nona would give (since Henrietta was Nona’s bestie).

Mimi was a hoot when she went on her little adventure but she definitely came through in a big way. It’ll be interesting to see what that upcoming quilt show brings when Alex returns to Massachusetts for it.

Island life.

As always, I enjoy following Alex as she is busy quilting and investigating with her faithful, dear friends, surrounding her and supporting her through all the ups and downs of island life. A cute cozy series that is entertaining and fun to read.

I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.

I love that Alex is still getting mysteries from Nona even though Nona has passed. So great that Alex enjoys relaxing with her piecing and quilting! It’s wonderful that Alex has formed a chosen family to complete her life since she has few living relatives. I love Kibbles’s zoomies! These are my thoughts after reading an advance copy of the book.

I was so glad to see Alex on the island, making a life, when of course a murder happens! This series is so good. The mysteries make you stop and think and the twists and turns keep coming from her grandmother. So descriptive I could see myself on the beach with Alex. Great characters, funny and smart and so loyal. I think this is one of the best series I've read.

Not a moment of rest for Alex on her island - between finishing her quilt and keeping an eye on the "meatloafs" how many more surprises can she handle?
Fun quick read with quirky characters and a few surprises along the way. Great book for a lazy afternoon.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Where are the meatloaves going?

Alex and Hawk are settling in on the island when a poacher comes after their ‘meatloaves’ and a hurricane bears down on them. While an entertaining chapter in the overall series I was waiting for more...and it didn’t really happen. We’re just left with a lot of new questions leaving us waiting with bated breath for the next installment!

Wow

What a great story that ended up with a hurricane taking out the island. Alex is torn between the house in Salem and Madras Island to fix the damage from the storm. Two engagements, a murder, stolen, mollusks, a beautiful rebuilt house, and lots of doubts about other residents lead to a lot of confusion for Alex. Can't wait for the next book.

Mending Mischief

This book is an excellent read. The characters truly come to life. You can actually imagine living the island life and then on to the cold Northeastern Snow life. It’s definitely a page turner. You want to know what happens next. I’m hoping there is another sequel to this book.

Mollusks and Mischief

Just when Alex thinks her life is peaceful and safe, she is wrong. Death and destruction and a villain from an earlier book. There is, however, a happy ending for Alex and Hawk.
