Absolutely fantastic series.
If you're looking for a funny, different take on a serial killer series, then may I present this book.
This is hilarious. Wendy has been my favourite character in the first two books, and she stands out here too.
You could easily read this as a standalone as the premise is immediately explained, but I wouldn't recommend missing out on the brilliance of this trilogy.
The author has already said Jimmy Wayne will be back again in a further series and I cannot wait.
Highly recommend.

I received an AD/PR copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the readalong hosted by Lovebookstours.

All the Worlds A Stage us the third and final book in the Comeback Series by Guy Hale and was a good ending to the trilogy. This series has been a refreshing change, and I've enjoyed books two and three and will be getting book one to read at some point in the near future.
In this book, we follow Jimmy as he embarks on a global tour where we see him trying to juggle fame as well as still produce his music peacefully, which isn't an easy feat. There was so much to wrap up in this book, but the author did a great job considering the amount of side characters to cover. The little twists and turns keep you hooked and I'd love a spin off to this series about one or two of the side characters such as Ma, Wendy and Tony (in their earlier lives building up to this series perhaps).

This is book three in the series. It was an absolutely hilarious crime caper. The author has brought together such a fabulous cast of characters. Ma was just horrifically fantastic. There is a wedding scene in the book that need to be brought to life on the big screen 🤣

Poor Jimmy just wants to make music and succeed. But he has managed to have a string of dead bodies behind him, including his late girlfriend Wendy and his biggest shareholders are a crime family.  Just when he thinks are starting to get better, he has been offered a world tour... he soon realises that things are not that simple and lots of hands are at play.

I loved the writing it is clever, well-paced and some of the banter and put downs had me laughing out loud. I've recently read a book in another series by the same author and he is quickly becoming a favourite!

The characters the author creates are just so full of life, even when they are morally questionable, I was hooked!

Absolutely fabulous and a joy to read. With thanks to the author and Love Books Tours for providing a copy of the book. This is my honest review which I'm leaving voluntarily.

This is sadly the final book in the Comeback Trial series ( can't believe it is coming to an end!) We are back with our main man Jimmy Wayne , he has been through a lot in these books but still his passion for music shines and here he is starting out on a tour of Europe with big name venues! We think finally he is getting some luck, but lurking behind the scenes is the crime bosses ready to pull him from his perch.

However, he has also caught the attention of other crime families from the places he has been touring. Maybe not quite the attention he wanted to be getting ! Will his start of success finally be revealed?

There are lots of great characters to meet through this book , although Jimmy might not feature as much as he is still at the forefront of everything. Another great gritty, funny thriller that will have you not wanting to finish it, not wanting the series to end!

Guy Hale has an amazing writing technique, and it's something that is unique to this series, I have read lots of thrillers but there is something about his writing style that will bring me back time and time again! A brilliant series!

I think John R. Deal (a character in the book if you haven't read the series) sums up this book better than anyone else could – “You’re about to be a world-famous music star who also happens to be a serial killer. Keeping you outta the electric chair is going to be like juggling cats. Gonna be fun trying though.” And fun it is! This is the third installment of "The Comeback Trial" trilogy by Guy Hale.

The twists and turns really kept me on my toes, and there are so many moving parts and new characters it was easy to get lost. It was fast-paced and kept me turning pages. I read over half the book in one afternoon, something I rarely get to do anymore! The luxury of a holiday weekend.

This is a book about a musician/serial killer. If you haven't read the first two, you might not know he's a pretty good guy, and he only kills bad guys. However, he's accidentally involved himself with some shady characters. So, this book is extremely gory and violent in ways the others were not. If you're sensitive to that, you might need to skip this one or skim certain parts like I did. The fact that it happened mattered, but the actual scene didn't seem too. I would have preferred if it was closed door.

If you can handle that, or don't mind skimming, it's a great read. It has a wacky, zany cast of loveable characters, including the main character. My favorite still remains Kid. I also really enjoyed the arc of gangster Tony C. in the story. I don't want to give anything away, but it was truly heartwarming. It's not something you usually see, and I appreciated it. Hale is amazing at writing a diverse set of characters and bringing them to life.

This is the last installment of this series, but the author has promised us another trilogy featuring Jimmy Wayne. I'll definitely be interested in seeing that. He's an interesting character. I always love an anti-hero with a unique story.

Who’s It For?
If you enjoy dark humor and can appreciate the cut-throat nature of show business, you’ll love this book. If you enjoy mafia/gangster literature, I think you might like this. But, I’ll be honest, I’ve never read any of that, so I can’t be sure. This series is steeped in gore and dark humor, but it also features a lot of exploration of organized crime around the world.

It can be read as a standalone, but I never advocate that personally. I always feel lost if I don’t start at the beginning of a series. Plus, characters are my love, and you miss out on a lot of character-building and connection if you don’t read the whole story.

All the World’s a Stage is bitter sweet because it signals the end of the Comeback Trail trilogy. I have loved each instalment to date and I have to say this one did not disappoint. The main thing that keeps these novels so good is Hale’s writing. It’s unique and brilliant. He manages to mix serious crime and thriller elements with a touch of light heartedness that will have you laughing at points you might not be and liking characters you probably shouldn’t! It’s this style that makes the series so enjoyable and best of all re-readable.

The third book ties everything together and while it might not be neatly, would it ever be when our protagonist is technically a serial killer? It suits the story and characters. And what a lot of characters there are! Each one is unique and perfectly imperfect in most cases. I can’t remember the last time I felt so much for a side character but I was really hit when (slight spoiler) we lost Tony. Now I can’t name many authors who can do that by making you, as a reader, connect with side characters so much.

But it isn’t just Tony there are so many characters that while not main ones shine bright and become memorable. Some of the others who have been less present we’ve learnt more about but I would love to read more about Ma, Askel, Kid and Wendy to name but a few.

If you love thrillers with a touch of fun, likeable characters (even the bad guys, maybe that is just me), a brilliant plot and a unique premise this is the series for you. You will be instantly charmed, delighted and maybe a little horrified by The Comeback Trail!

All the best characters are back. Jimmy, Wendy, Kid and Askel. Eeeeps Ma and Big George. The humour comes back straight away and the stitch ups and banter just had me smiling constantly. New characters: Pierre and Luigi and more. This trilogy is exactly what you need in your life. I loved that you don’t need to read all the books to have an understanding of what has happened previously. The author takes you back to all the main points.

The bit of psychology referencing too with Pavlov… loved that. There’s so much art, history and travelling and of course music with great references to key gods in music.
Eva and ma’s double brutal killing on top of other gory moments are epic. My heart broke when we learn of Nicole and you now know Wendy can finally let Jimmy go. I don’t want to give any spoilers but when the really good become a bit bad, I absolutely lived for that. I feel really sad now this journey is over and I can’t wait to see what else the author brings out. The writing is unique, funny and straight up in your face. Loved this so much.

The story of Jimmy Wayne continues and this time he is on a world tour, still trying to keep out of trouble and write his songs without having to kill anyone. Book three in this fun and entertaining series had a lot more in it about the ‘bad guys’ Jimmy is trying to avoid and I felt the story was a bit more about Jack Lantern and his crazy Ma.

This is a really fun series to read and it’s difficult to know what will happen next because it’s a bizarre and crazy world and that’s part of its charm, to be honest. It draws you in and you often think ‘what on earth’ but you can’t put it down and you just have to know what happens next. Speaking of what happens next, I really hope there are lots more books in the Comeback trail planned, there are so many people I want to find out more about!

I received a gifted copy of this novel. This review is my honest opinion and written voluntarily.

Goodness, I really loved this series and was so sad to see it end! And what a wild ride it has been. At it’s core, it’s really just Jimmy wanting to make music, and be good at it to reach super stardom. But here he is dealing with the Lanterns who have an investment in him, but also want to kill him, other gang members and a Sheriff who want him dead, the worry that someone might find the bodies of those he killed to make his first album… so many odds are against him and it’s a lot to juggle while also managing fame and his now world tour. But yet, the book/series manages to still be fun and jokey and while the elements are serious, it’s a comedic series. In short, this series is just FUN, and I highly recommend reading it. Truly was a joy.

Thank you Love Books Tours and Guy Hale for my gifted copies of this series.

Excellent finale to the series, these books have kept me gripped from start to finish and laughing along the way with the macabre humour and scheming.
This is packed with action and criminal antics, and with all the murder in the background from crime boss retaliations and crazy Ma on the loose,
all Jimmy has to do is sit back and wait for his new songs from the death and destruction surrounding him.
But life is never simple for Jimmy - forced to play at the wedding of Ma and Georgie the crime boss villains, tricked into carrying stolen goods on his world tour, and kidnapped by an obsessed fan and mafia boss, it's never a dull moment.
This is darker, grittier, and a bittersweet but thrilling end to Jimmy's comeback tour. This series really does make you root for the killers, empathise with criminals, and be charmed by impossible paranormal beings.

When I started this book I hadn’t read the first 2 books in the trilogy but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this book.

I lost count of how many times I laughed out at this book the exchanges between the characters are hilarious.

I loved Wendy what a great character 😂
Jimmy is musician and serial killer, expect lots of violence and gore but also expect a fast paced read in a book that is really hard to put down.

The book cover really attracted me to this book before I’d read the blurb, a highly recommended read and a really great series.

This is the third and final book in The Comeback Trail Trilogy.....and I'm so sad that we're at the end.

Once again, we continue to follow Jimmy on his journey to the top! Now he's off on his major European tour and things couldn't be better. But has he changed his ways?...

With Jack and George trying to catch him out, Jimmy needs to lay low and avoid drawing more attention to himself....but little does he know that the crime families across Europe have been paying attention and now they're all fighting for a piece of him.

As ever, the characters just jump off the page and really catch your attention. I am still battling over Jimmy's morals and I'm still sitting here with a huge grin on my face and laughing out loud at the antics that are going on.

I have literally sped through all 3 books in this series and am obsessed. Am really going to miss Jimmy and everyone.

It's been an outstanding journey and one I'm sad to see end....
With such a brilliant writing style, I can't wait to see what Guy brings us next.

The Cover photo is quite gorgeous and as I have already read the first two parts I was instantly intrigued into reading this one too.

Jimmy Wayne’s saga unfolds further as he embarks on a global tour, navigating the complexities of fame while striving to compose his music peacefully. In the third installment of this captivating series, the narrative delves deeper into the antagonists that Jimmy endeavors to elude. The spotlight shifts towards Jack Lantern and his eccentric mother, adding layers to the tale and enriching the world that Jimmy inhabits.

The writing skills of the author are flawless and I was engaged throughout the book without getting bored at all. This series has been such a thrilling adventure for me full of twists and turns. Through his captivating writing style I could visualise the whole plot unfolding in front of my eyes Little by little.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and I will highly recommend it. Grab your copy today and you will definitely enjoy reading it as much as I did.

The entertaining Comeback Trail trilogy by Guy Hale is based on an original and fascinating premise. I was delighted to receive copies of all three novels in return for an honest review. In the first novel, Killing Me Softly, unsuccessful singer-songwriter Jimmy Wayne is scratching out a living in a run-down Nevada casino. The only joy in Jimmy’s sordid life comes from his love affair with funny, smart Wendy. One morning he wakes up after a bender to find that he has accidentally killed Wendy and also written his best song ever. Wendy appears to Jimmy as a ghost and convinces him that the act of murder inspires him to create his finest music. He never plans to kill people, they just seem to present themselves for slaughter while his career soars. Fortunately, except for Wendy, Jimmy’s victims are very bad people.

In the second novel of the trilogy, Blood on the Tracks, Jimmy comes to terms with his dual status as inadvertent serial killer and supernatural songwriter. He heads for LA to make an album which he hopes will make him a star. After he gets involved with crime boss Jack Lantern the killing spree continues, and the hits roll in. Hale’s writing style is confident, relaxed and humorous, and the plot is unpredictable. There are many quirky characters, including mystical John, Jimmy’s sidekick Kid, sophisticated David and murderous Ma Lantern.

All the World’s a Stage, the final instalment of The Comeback Trail trilogy, follows Jimmy Wayne on a major tour of Europe. While Jimmy's fame is reaching dizzying heights, Jack Lantern and his associates are busy planning his destruction. Jimmy's adventures in Europe have attracted the attention of crime families in London, Paris, Italy and Spain, and everyone is after his blood. From recovering stolen artwork to Ma Lantern’s romantic escapades, the mayhem of Jimmy’s whirlwind tour threatens him with death or exposure.

I enjoyed the twisty, imaginative plot, the wisecracks and and humour in The Comeback Trail trilogy. Trigger warning - there are some violent episodes in All the World’s a Stage. They are tongue in cheek - with other body parts also ending up in unexpected places. These passages were rather too bloody for my taste, but readers with a dark sense of humour will fall about laughing. I look forward to reading Guy Hale’s next novel.

‘All The World’s A Stage’ is the thrilling conclusion to the ‘Comeback Trilogy’ and was packed full of humour, music, bad guys and action! This is book three in the series and although it can be read as a standalone novel I thoroughly recommend reading the whole series as they are fantasticly unique books! In fact, I am bereft that the series is now over as I would have stayed in this world for much longer if I was able to!

Jimmy Wayne has hit the big time! Him and the band are about to head off to Europe to go on a sell-out tour, after the success of the album and a residence in Las Vegas. However, Jack Lantern, the Vegas gangster and his even more terrifying mother, Ma Lantern have plans to make money off his tour. But these are the only gangster Jimmy has to worry about as the European crime Lords are not happy about Jack and Ma heading to their countries and want a piece of the action. All Jimmy wants to do is play music but will he survive to be able to do just that?!

This was one action-packed read, it was relentless! These books are such good fun, full of laugh-out-loud moments, amazing characters and a brilliantly unique story! Jimmy is the strangest serial killer I have ever read about as he really does have a heart of gold. This was a fitting finale for him - selling out the Albert Hall, meeting his heroes and forming new bonds. He also has a great cast of friends to call upon - Kid and Askel, David and John R Deal. I'm fascinated with all of these and they all have brilliant backstory and I would easily read numerous books about them. Hint hint Guy! And of course there is the brilliant Wendy, ghost extraordinaire who I just utterly loved. That's just the good guys! The baddies - oh gosh Guy has managed to create such a collection of characters for these. But the best has to be Ma Lantern and my revulsion for her is a testimony to the standard of Guy’s writing and his sick imagination! She really does need to be experienced to be believed and she will linger in my consciousness for quite some time!

Guy is has now become an auto-buy author for me as I have been wowed by this series! His standard of writing, his brilliant characters and highly innovative plotting! This book was a cracking read and I have no hesitation in recommending the whole series! I can't wait to see what he does next!

Let me know if you pick this one up!

" [...] Never so alive as when you’re near death, eh? [...] "

This was my third encounter with Guy Hale's work. This time I reached for the third volume in the "The Comeback Trial" series, titled "All the World's a Stage". There's a lot going on here. Jimmy Wayne and his band are going on a European tour. They will visit, among others, Rome and Paris. Will they survive this route? Who will have to die this time for another brilliant Jimmy Wayne song to be created? Let me tell you, this part is the best. I secretly hope that the author will create another volume. I would love to know the further fate of the characters in this part. If you liked Wendy, you can also read about her here. Also, noteworthy is a mysterious old man named John. I think he is an angel. The only question is whether he is a good angel or a bad one? Of course, you will judge it for yourself while reading. In "All the World's a Stage" I found scenes that made me laugh, but there were also moments that completely terrified me. Especially when a "cute" old lady named Ma showed up. Everyone should be afraid of her. She is an exceptional psychopath. In this part, her marital status will change. You'll have to guess for yourself what this will involve. There's never a dull moment with this old lady. It's always bloody with her. In this part, Guy Hale has prepared a lot of surprises for you. Are you ready for this? A fast-paced action with interesting twists, a plot worthy of a world championship and characters that will remain in your memory for a long time - all this makes this book worth reading. I had a lot of fun reading it. The time spent on this book was not wasted. I encourage you to read: "Killing me softly", "Blood on the Tracks" and "All the World's a Stage". You will meet the talented singer Jimmy Wayne, who mysteriously writes his songs after murdering a man. Are you ready for Jimmy Wayne? At the end of the book, I was literally moved. Tears flowed.

I thank the author for these emotions.

(4.5)

The final installment of "The Comeback Trail" series throws the band into the limelight with a massive tour, but with fame comes trouble – they're constantly on edge due to the attention from crime families worldwide.

I loved how this book introduced several crime families, adding depth and a whole new level of intrigue to the story. While some were hinted at before, diving deeper into their world in this installment really grabbed my attention.

Seeing Aksel back in the mix was fantastic, though I couldn't help but wish for more of him. He's such a fun and interesting character, but it felt like he didn't get as much spotlight as he deserved, especially compared to the ever-mysterious John R. Deal.

Speaking of John, he's hands down my favorite character. With each appearance, he becomes more enigmatic, more complex. It's like the more I read, the less I understand about him. His protective nature towards Jimmy adds this intriguing dark edge to his character that I couldn't get enough of.

This book was my most favourite out of the trilogy. Jimmy's introspective point of view added a depth that I really appreciated, balancing humor with a more serious tone that gave the characters a whole new dimension.

While the ending wrapped up most of the story nicely, there were still some loose ends that left me wanting more closure. Certain characters felt like they just faded into the background without a proper resolution. Maybe a fourth book set after the tour could've tied up these loose ends and given the story the closure it deserves.

This series has been an absolute delight to journey through. I've really noticed the author's writing style evolving, and this last book, in particular, was an absolute gem - the culmination of everything I loved about the series with very few parts that didn't quite hit the mark for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some short stories or spin-offs featuring characters like John or Aksel. That would be brilliant.

Experiencing that sad feeling you get when you come to the end of a series you love.

But on the plus side, I hear there is talk of character spin off books AND a brand new unrelated book by the same author out soon

It's rare to find a dark humor series that I love and this ticks all the boxes. Combined with a paranormal element and this was a hit for me for sure.

This series follows Jimmy Wayne a never was singer who accidentally kills his girlfriend one night and discovers he can then write hit songs.

Bring on Wendy, the witty ghost of his girlfriend, a string of killings of 'really bad dudes', more hit songs and add in several crime boss families and it goes someway to explaining this brilliantly written series.

I sniggered so much through this book series. The banter, character interaction and the witt of some of the MCs was hilarious..

This book was definitely my favourite of the series. Killing me softly and Blood on the tracks were solid 4 star reads for me, but I think the additional characters, wider plot line and wrap up of this made this even more enjoyable.

I adored Johnny as a character and the plot surrounding him and his ability to bring out the good in people.

I can't think of a single thing I didn't like about this book / series.

The way the author mixes dark plotlines and humour was brilliant done. Captivating and witty, funny and filled with loveable characters this book had it all.

This series is one I will be returning to read again and again.

Highly recommend.

Run and download / buy this now. I'm really glad I've got the physical books of this as these covers are just awesome.

I read this as part of the Love Book Tours readalong and all thoughts are my own.

’All the World’s a Stage’ by Guy Hale is book number three in a brilliant series about famous rock star and serial killer Jimmy Wayne. The book’s colourful cover invites the reader into the glamorous world of music. His first tour of Europe involves all sorts of crime and particularly issues with foreign crime families. Jimmy is set to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in the UK, in France, Italy, Spain and other countries.

The story starts with the fact that the local sheriff got a new dog that may come close to the Song Cemetery. Thus, the animal needs to disappear quickly before it finds any evidence of Jimmy’s dark secrets.

Guy Hale’s writing style is somehow funny but surely compels the reader to read on. I would definitely love to read more by the author in the future.

This book contains references to goat yoga, the pleasures of crime marriages, cemetery chit chat with dead celebrities and more. I wonder how the author comes up with all these amazing ideas?

The characters are very well developed and have great unique features. I particularly liked the background of the crime families, for example the more or less sudden deaths of certain crime bosses and Ma’s extraordinary wedding. I enjoyed the portrayal of Wendy, Jimmy’s dead girlfriend, who appears from time to time. I also loved John who is a bit older than you would expect, Jimmy and all the band members and of course the newly-employed bus driver lady with killing experience. While reading, you never know who will survive till the end of the story.

Overall, a highly recommended read.

I was given this book in exchange for me honest review!

This is the third book in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone which I did. However having said that, as much as I really enjoyed this book, reading the first two would have helped me know who the characters were a bit better.

So we continue to follow Jimmy as he is about to embark on a world tour, all the while trying to navigate the fame he is now receiving while also trying not to upset the gangster family who own his label. I thought the premise of this story was fantastic, it was a fun, fast paced read and sometimes funny when we read about some of the situations the characters get into. I really liked how humble Jimmy seemed despite his very bloody past and knowing just how he got his songs, shouldn't make me want to root for him, but I couldn't help it. I thought all the characters were written brilliantly and I could really picture what each is like, I absolutely love Ma lantern, she is one crazy lady and scary as hell, but she was so much fun to read. The descriptions of some of the situations that these characters find themselves were so brilliantly gory. I didn't realize reading about a singer and going on tour one minute, to bloody torture the next could be so much fun.
Like I said, I feel like I have missed out as I didn't get the chance to read the first two books, I think if I had, I would have had a better understanding of one or two of the characters, but it was still an absolutely fun read and I definitely want to read the first two now.

What a trilogy! I have to say that this was probably my favourite of all three. It might be due to the fact that the characters are so well developed by now that they feel very realistic. It might also be because I now know all of them so well I became attached, especially to some of them.

The third book in The Comeback Trail series was again a very positively weird journey with lots of elements that shouldn't work well rationally, but that do fit together wonderfully, due to the ability and wit of the author.

Although the dark humour, Guy Hale's trademark, flows strongly throughout the book, there are also touching moments here and there, resulting in a change of pace and a feeling that anything can happen in this story. And anything does happen indeed!!

Whilst we follow the success of Jimmy and his band, on tour around Europe, we also participate in all the shenanigans happening around him and the inevitable deaths that seem to follow him everywhere (good for him! IYKYK).

I was a bit taken aback by the ending as it didn't quite bring to a close lots of the loose ends, which makes me think there's going to be more (hopefully).

I thoroughly enjoyed this last book and the whole trilogy, and I urge anyone with a good dark sense of humour to read it.

Thanks to the author and LoveBooksTours for a copy and this is my honest opinion.

is the third instalment of the Comeback Trail Series featuring our lead character Jimmy Wayne and like the others it didn’t disappoint. I particularly love Guy’s style of writing, mixing humour with some very dark themes. I found myself grimacing and laughing all at the same time. There is a lot going on in this story so once you start you won’t want to put the book down. It’s full of action and some unexpected twists keeping you entertained right up to the end. I don’t know what it says about me but I love Jimmys character and I’ll miss him.

In the final instalment of The Comeback Trial trilogy, Jimmy Wayne has set off on his major tour of Europe, selling out the likes of the Royal Albert Hall and Zenith, Paris. While Jimmy's fame is reaching dizzying heights, behind-the-scenes crime bosses, Jack Lantern and George Digbeth, are scheming ways to bring him crashing back down to earth. But it's not just these two he should be worried about. Jimmy's adventures in Europe have drawn the attention of crime families across London, Paris, southern Italy and Madrid and everyone is battling for a piece of the action. But it's not just these two he should be worried about. Jimmy's adventures in Europe have drawn the attention of crime families across London, Paris, southern Italy, and Madrid, and everyone is battling for a piece of the action. From recovering valuable stolen artwork to his mother's romantic escapades, will Jimmy survive the mayhem of this whirlwind tour or will the dubious, murderous circumstances to which he owes all his success, be exposed, for once and for all...?
I read this as a readalong and I really enjoyed it.
I really did enjoy this book. I loved this series. It's a shame it's the last one. I would like it to continue. I did like most of the characters. Jimmy kid John. I even liked, ma. George, I grew to dislike. I don't know why. Askle I liked. I did like how everything was finalised. Lots of action. There was nothing in this book I didn't like. I loved the ending. It was perfect. 5*.

I absolutely loved every minute of this final book I. the Comeback Trail trilogy from Guy Hale. Jimmy Wayne and the Second Chance are finally set to take the world by storm on their European tour. We meet some new character- mostly gangsters, but there is also a love interest for Kid thrown in. What a power couple! Jack, Ma and George are up to their usual tricks as well, helping to add laughs and comic relief with their murderous antics, involving the boys in art smuggling and one of the most memorable weddings ever! I thought this was the perfect end to Jimmy Wayne’s story. He finally has the success that he has always wanted and life is looking pretty rosy. He has a new love interest, who is actually alive, as well. An expertly written story, with just the right amount of twists to keep the reader turning the pages. Guy has a talent for mixing humour into a crime novel and lightening the mood of the story. Every character is unique and quirky, each one is integral to the story. They are all ‘real’ and easy to engage with. They are all likeable in their own way. The concept of the story is exceptional and makes for superb reading. Kudos to the author for such a fantastic series of books.

Book 3 in The Comeback Trail Series which continues the meteoric rise to music fame of Jimmy Wayne, thanks to his serial killer persona. Whilst I would recommend you read the previous two books this works well as a stand alone thriller. This is a crazy series full of madness and mayhem, murder and music, I’m not sure I’d want to be inside the authors mind!

Briefly, Jimmy’s team has decided he needs to leave the USA for a while and sets him up on a sold out tour across Europe. However, Jimmy is unaware the tour is being used to smuggle paintings. Adding to the confusion we have a Spanish gangster who wants to sing a duet with Jimmy and looking after him throughout the chaos is Wendy his ex (who he killed by mistake) and a 189 year old soldier from the civil war!

With a constant level of extreme violence perpetuated not only by Jack and his 74 year old insatiable mother Ma Lantern but by every other criminal from Las Vegas to Nimes via London and Paris who wants a piece of the action. The thrills keep coming. Full of dark humour, and I mean dark, this is like a 1970’s farce on speed. Extreme yes, gory yes, but good fun? Absolutely!

ww, I am so sad that we've come to the end of this read along! I have thoroughly enjoyed it! I came into this one without reading books 1 and 2, this is the 3rd installment of the Comeback trail, you can read this as a stand alone as you can pick up what has happened in the previous books, but felt that I had missed some of the background on some of the characters throughout this one. But I definitely will be reading the others and probably re reading this one.

You can't go wrong with a good serial killer/ crime novel, but add in Guy Hales writing style and humour, and you have a fantastic read.

This was such a fun read. It was fast-paced with twists and turns, and I just wanted to keep reading. I found myself laughing out loud at times ( whilst I was on the bus as well). I do love a bit of dark humour and this had that! I loved the different characters and what they brought, One of my favourites was Ma, boy, was she just crazy! I really do hope there is a prequel/ spin-off with her because I bet she has a story to tell!

All in all, if you haven't read any of this series, I definitely would recommend it just off the back of this one

This time we find Jimmy about to set out on an exciting European tour. One that will even find him performing at the renowned Royal Albert Hall.

All Jimmy wants is to play the music for his fans and see more of the cities he has only ever dreamed about being in, but nothing is that simple in Jimmy’s world. This time it seems that everyone wants a piece of the action but not everyone is going to survive to see it.

Ma Lantern is one of my favourite twisted characters from this series and she is back even more horny and homicidal than before.

Throughout the craziness of the crime families there is still time for some tender moments as family and friendships are tested to the limits.

All the world’s a stage is packed with all the murder and mayhem we have come to expect from this series. This time around there is even love in the air for some of the characters which offers some light relief.

Old and new characters once again converge as the Comeback Series comes to a dramatic close.

The comeback trail trilogy comes to an end, and what an end! I shed a tear once or twice, I laughed out loud multiple times, I winced in pain in solidarity with characters, and I rejoiced in their happy endings.
There's definitely still a few loose ends that could see the author revisit the series later down the line if he chooses such as Sheriff Pence and Eva. There's also a lot of characters who have interesting backstories and could have very interesting futures, too, should he decide to spin-off in another direction such as Kid, Aksel or John.
There was non-stop action from the get-go, plenty of thrills and spills throughout, and visits from old friends.
This was my favourite of the three, perhaps because the stage was already set, we knew the key players, and what was going on, but this one just felt like it had a more fluid vibe.
I will miss Jimmy, Wendy, and the second chance gang, I will definitely be back in the worlds the author creates, though. I can't wait to see where his bonkers mind takes us next!

The last in the trilogy about Jimmy Wayne, this was a perfect ending to the series. I enjoyed all of the random references in here (goat yoga is a killer, man!) and had to rearrange my mental picture of Ma Lantern a bit after all the guys that admitted she was smexy is a dangerous sort of way. Her personality shouts Yzma, but apparently has a better plastic surgeon 😘 I am kind of sad to say goodbye to Jimmy, I never thought a killer would have me laughing and rooting for him!

Jimmy Wayne isn’t on his way to the top. He and his band are there. So when his manager suggests a world tour, he is excited. But the not so clean money that has a stake in his career sees it as a great opportunity for them as well. The powers of Camembert cheese border on psychic, but not enough for Jimmy to avoid trouble. The reluctant serial killer’s adventures have turned international.

Thank you to Love Book Tours, all thoughts are my own.

We’ve reached the end of the All The World’s A Stage read along. I think it is a fair summary to say that I have never read anything like this series and I suspect I won’t come across something like this again. This book is a great end to the series. It’s a fun read, packed with action and twists. It’s a bit like soap opera in book form. There are parts where you have to suspend disbelief because it is just so bunkers but that is part of what makes it such a fun read.

The author does a great job of dealing with some really serious issues but in a way that isn’t overwhelming and somehow still manages to find the comedy in this situations. It definitely does a great job in providing a lighthearted read.

I’ve enjoyed seeing the conclusion and wrapping up of some of the characters story lines - they’re a very unique bunch and it’s been great fun reading about them.

A good conclusion to the series
