Basic Premise: The title says it all.

This volume is definitely comprehensive in its scope. There are scenes from plays all through history. As a theatre teacher, it's obviously an extremely useful tool for finding scenes for my students to perform. The scenes are largely school-appropriate, with very little obscenity to complain about. Some of them are quite a lot of fun. The problem is, some of them are a LOT better than others for high school students to perform. Some of the scenes don't have a lot of context, thus don't make a lot of sense. Some of the scenes from ancient Greece, etc have language that is so archaic that giving them to a beginning actor would be akin to committing thespianic murder. I give it four stars for being extremely useful and having mostly good scenes. It can't get 5, though, because some of them i simply would never use in my classes.
