An outrageous tale of the crimes of a "mad scientist" who thwarted nearly every 3-letter government agency you can think of and the hero "top cop" who helped to put an end to his reign of terror, once and for all!
As with most top cop stories, nearly the entire city - Chicago, in this instance - had to be destroyed first.
However, this is in no way your typical crime spree. Dr. Jonathan Gault is essentially a genius. He has the right credentials, political connections, and military grade resources at his disposal. A man with many faces, he employs a corrupted and differently abled younger man named Christian to help execute his dastardly plans. We later learn that Dr. Gault's twisted way of using his devices against anyone who gets in his way is a result of him being traumatized by his father and brother, on a native American reservation, years ago.
We're also introduced to a colorful cast of characters including the journalist Kate, the Director of Public Safety, Tommy, jazz club owner and voodooine, Sandy and a host of others.
I think that anyone who loves sci-fi and/or crime novels, as well as anyone who appreciates a bit of dark magic will love this title!

A good read, but more science fiction thriller than your typical police driven murder mystery.
