In the fifth volume of Kamisama Kiss, Nanami and Tomoe travel together with Kurama to his homeland, where unrest is brewing. On the Tengu mountain, they are faced with several challenges along the way.
I enjoyed this volume as well, even though it felt a bit slower to me compared to the previous one. We’re introduced to some new characters, and I found Jiro especially interesting. Nanami continues to grow into her role as a shrine goddess and even discovers new abilities in this volume. As always, the banter between Nanami and Tomoe is a highlight, and I really liked seeing Tomoe face a bit of competition for a change.
I’m definitely curious to see how the story will continue, but I also hope we’ll get more moments of everyday life at the shrine again.
