An act of kindness turned down leaves a bad taste in my mouth before I can even get passed a first-name basis. My next-door neighbor, Leon, is a jerk. All it takes is one bad first impression to set my feelings straight. He’s a tattoo-covered motorcyclist who hates the world and everyone in it–including me. There’s no reason my heart should pound every time I catch his eyes in my direction. Though, I can’t ignore the way his permanent scowl softens whenever I’m around. Maybe it’s my imagination getting the best of me. When the time comes for a second impression, I start to believe there is more to Leon than I originally thought. He’s got a soft side, one that makes it hard to hate him. Suddenly, I want to get to know my grumpy neighbor a little better. He can’t be that bad, right?
Sexy Neighbor 3.5 stars When Danie sees a moving truck followed by a motorcyclist, she is surprised to learn that the perpetually vacant home next to her has been sold. In a neighborly gesture of goodwill, she takes each of the two men a cold glass of homemade lemonade, it has nothing to do with how hot she thinks the motorcycle rider is or wanting for find out the situation with the new neighbor(s). Unfortunately for Danie, only one of the men is friendly and forthcoming, the other she feels is standoffish and being a jerk for initially refusing her offering, and the friendly one is not her new neighbor. Leon feels badly for making a poor impression on Danie, particularly because he finds her stunning, so he goes out of his way to be friendly and open with her. They both feel there could be more between them, but neither thinks the other feels the same. Leon because he’s older and knows he’s a bit of a grump, and Danie’s afraid of taking the chance, only for it to go sideways and they’re stuck living next to each other. I wouldn’t say this story is instalove, because they did have a rocky start, regardless of the instant attraction they both felt. Attraction isn’t love, there was no “knowing” involved. I would say this is friends to lovers, because even though they each had an agenda, they did become friends before taking the next step. So, FTL, age gap, slow burn, on page steam, contemporary romance novella.

Danie is surprised when she sees someone moving into the house next door and goes to give them a drink as a welcome to the neighborhood. However, one didn't seem that friendly and sets her off. Leon is attracted to Danie but is a grump around people, so he doesn't make a good first impression with her. Yet he wants her to see him differently, so he sets out to show her a different man from the one she met the first time. Both want to be with the other but insecurities keep them at bay. Will they admit to how they feel for one another? Will this be something more between them?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

She decides to be friendly and take over some homemade lemonade so she can meet them. But it doesn't go so well with the owner of the new house.
Leon is moving into a new house. When one of his neighbors comes over to say hi. He makes a poor impression on her.
This was a short story with action and drama throughout. It had a few giggles within.

The Grump Next Door is a spicy age-gap grumpy-sunshine romance. Leon is a grumpy biker who moves in next door to Danie, his much younger cute neighbor. Danie is instantly attracted to Leon but then upset when he is rather rude when she welcomes him to the neighborhood. Over the next few weeks Danie realizes he has a softer side. Leon has been attracted to Danie since day one but didn't think she'd want to date someone older. Danie ends up inviting Leon as her date to the neighborhood BBQ and love ignites. This is a short and steamy story with a great HEA. Highly recommend.

Nyla Lily's The Grump Next Door is a short, sweet and steamy instalove grumpy guy-sunshiny girl age-gap romance. When Leon rides in on his motorcycle into the idyllic neighbourhood she's lived in for a while - and moves into the fixer-upper next door - both his and Danie's lives change. Two complete opposites, and a first impression hardly promising. Will the grump and the sweet girl next door discover that opposites really do attract?

This was a fun grumpy sunshine romance between neighbors. Leon loves with a permanent grump face and tends to scare off people. Danie isn’t having any of it and keeps her friendly attitude. I liked Leon as a character and was sad that he felt he wasn’t deserving of love and sunshine. I liked experiencing the blossoming of their friendship and when things took a more serious and spicy turn. A fun, short, and spicy romance with a sweet ending.

Danie lives in a small an quiet community and is happy. Her new neighbor is a hot tatted biker that acts like a jerk towards Danie. Leon blew his shot with Danie when he acted like an idiot at their first meeting. Now he needs to work for the forgiveness of his woman. These two were so freaking sweet and awkward with each other. 🥰🥰 Instalove, sweet, romantic , fun to read , with a bit steam and safe with a sweet HEA😍😍

I absolutely love the newest book by the amazing Nyla Lily. Danie is the sweetest character, and I love how she turns her grumpy new neighbor into the person she can't live without. I love how these two get the perfect ending, and I always want more stories from this incredible author.
If your looking for an ott spicy older bad boy with a gooey center, and a sweet maybe not-so-innocent neighbor next door look no further. Short, steamy , and sweet. My top S's in reading. Niyla has a winning formula and I love it!
Very sweet and very short but I loved it! The only thing I would change is maybe a bit longer but this was sweet as butter cream frosting on a spongy fresh cupcake!
