The novel begins with the police finding the dead body of a young man in an abandoned building in an isolated place in Ernakulam town. If it was not for an anonymous phone call, it wouldn’t have been noticed by the police and the dead body would have decayed in time. This is the second detective novel in the Perumaal series.
The Panangadan family had to give up their assets and associations in Goa and fled to Kerala for the love of their lives after a betrayal. The root cause of their tragedy is their eldest daughter Leela Rose Panangadan. She was cheated by Robin Krish who followed them. But he was arrested by the police and later sent to jail. The duration of his imprisonment was increased due to a crime that he committed in the jail. As fate would have it, by the time he was released, Leela Rose Panangadan had become a leading film actress. Robin attempts to blackmail her. The police discovers that the unknown dead body was Robin’s d that Leela Rose had a strong motive to kill him and that she did kill him. Leela’s friends approach detective Perumaal to help her. As he looks into the case in detail , Perumal comes to the conclusion that it is Leela who committed the crime. But then he realizes the slightest mistake that he made as matters near the climax. It leads him beyond truth, the ultimate reality, in other words, his game is on. This is an intelligent novel playing on the edges, bringing the best of detective fiction with excellent discipline. Detective Perumal series began published in Malayalam in 2006 and became a big success.then after. New editions of the books are still a hot cake in the market.
