What happens when we die? Journey from the moment of death to the eternal joy in store for those who follow Christ. Interviews with those who claim near-death experiences, Catholic and scientific literature, and historic accounts of the saints reveal fascinating glimpses of the afterlife.
An inspiring quick read. Mr. Brown drew from familiar sources, so not many surprises, but excellent information and necessary reminders for me. EVERYTHING we think, say, and do matters, especially we must always be motivated by a loving heart. In Carmel we would call this our deepest, truest Self, the Interior Castle, where God dwells. Reinforced intentions to pray for Holy Souls.
A good book to reread every so often. Other titles by Brown look worth checking out.
Pure malarkey. No one knows what heaven is like. This book is full of nonsense. The only message worth anything is to lead a good life believing in God and being kind to one another.
This book wa sa real eye opener. As a matter of fact, it scared me as to how even the smallest of sins can affect our eternal salvation. People throughout history hwo we thought would surely go to Heaven are not, but are in Purgatory or Hell. There have been some people given the gift of seeing Heaven, Purgatory or Hell; we should heed their advice. Purgatory seems to have numerous levels so even what may seem to be the purest of persons can end up in Purgatory at a higher level while some of us may be just outside Hell's gates.
It cannot be as simple as love BUT it is and to ignore this simple command can cost you your life. Anyone can love friends and family but the saintly learn to love their enemies through focus and familiarization.
