Like New Ex-Library Book that looks like it was never read! Nice mylar cover, clean pages, a couple of simple notes on inside front cover. The word DISCARDED is written on the inside back cover. LOTS of wear left in this fine book. Satisfaction guaranteed. Thank you for considering Whispering Pines for your purchase.

My Dearest Augusta was fantastic. Where Margot Strickland finds Augusta devious, much like Byron, Gunn portrays her as innocent and clever, and always sincere - she never intended to deceive Annabella, etc. I'm not sure where the truth lies - probably somewhere in between - but she did seem to have Byron's (and Annabella's) best interests at heart, despite the complicated relationship between the three of them. (Man, I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the three of them were staying together... I bet it was a freaking three-ring circus.) I... have lots of thoughts on this text, and the details of Augusta's life, particularly her relationship with Annabella after Byron's divorce and later, after his death. It's a very interesting topic.
