The twenty-sixth sensational edition of U.S. Marshal has arrived!
While searching for the outlaw Shooter Thompson, Timber finds Boldstone, a cattle town left empty as the stream – and profits – dried up. With the townsfolk thirsty and hopeless, their only option is to sell the town for almost nothing – or so they think. Timber sets out to find the truth about the arid town and set things right, undercovering a syndicate and Shooter Thompson’s whereabouts along the way.
As with every Jake Timber tale, this is a story filled with adventure, danger, and of course – justice. Will the townsfolk get to keep their homes? And will Timber’s strong sense of justice lead to his demise? The pursuit of the truth is a treacherous endeavor, a job fitting for the unshakable Jake Timber, U.S. Marshal. Comparable to the other Timber stories. Decent tale, good characters, and in need of an editor / proofing. It has the same type of typos as normal. Additionally, this book in the series has a glaring error at the end regarding transactions and making things right.
I won’t spoil it, but anyone with a sense of transactions can spot the major goof in the story’s ending at arms length, no pun intended.
Timber stops a group of dishonest business men from swindling a town. The group hires a wanted gunman to kill Timber, but a ranch owner and some of the town's store owners help save Timber. Good ending.
