When victims of a new killer are found to have been attacked by dogs, FBI Special Agent Faith Bold knows that her K9 German Shepherd, Turk, will be needed to not only help save the next victim in victim—but also to help her in the fight of her life….
FBI Special Agent Faith Bold doesn’t believe she can ever return to the force after the trauma she’s been through. Suffering from past demons, she feels unfit for duty and content to retire—until Turk walks into her life.
Turk, a former Marine Corps dog, wounded in battle, suffers from his own demons. But he never lets it show as he gives everything to Faith to get her back on her feet.
Each are slow to warm up to each other, but when they do, they are inseparable. Each is equally determined to hunt down the demons chasing them, whatever the cost, and to watch each other’s backs—even at the risk of their own life.
A page-turning and harrowing crime thriller featuring a brilliant and tortured FBI agent, the Faith Bold series is a riveting mystery, packed with non-stop action, suspense, twists and turns, revelations, and driven by a breakneck pace that will keep you flipping pages late into the night.

The story is a solid 3.5-4.5 star book. This is true for the entire series.
But it gets an automatic one start for using an AI audio narrator instead of getting an actual narrator to save money or whatever. There are tons and tons of narrators out there who are just starting, good and don’t need a paycheck for their work. Many work off audiobook sales or even credits (I know from experience with said narrators.)
AI “art” is lazy and a theft of real people creating art.
So Alone is book seven by Blake Pierce. FBI Special Agent Faith Bold and her partner, FBI Special Agent Michael Prince, caught a case of a new killer who was using dogs as weapons. At first, FBI Special Agent Faith Bold and FBI Special Agent Michael Prince could not find the connection between the victims until they realised that dogs are the key. The readers of So Alone will continue to follow FBI Special Agent Faith Bold and FBI Special Agent Michael Prince's investigation to discover what happens.
The readers of So Alone will learn about the role of a dog groomer. So Alone is a fantastic addition to this excellent series by Blake Pierce. I enjoy and engage with Blake Pierce's stories and characters, and So Alone did not disappoint. I began to understand the challenges faced by law enforcement officers and their families when someone becomes obsessed with them.
I like Blake Pierce's portrayal of his characters and the way they intertwine with each other throughout this book. So Alone is well-welcome and researched by Blake Pierce. I like Blake Pierce's description of the settings of So Alone, which allows me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
Cliffhangar. I am tired of this. If an author wants to use a teaser, then give a sample of the first chapter of the next book. Do not have an epilogue with a cliffhangar. When I read a book, I want it to end, not take up in another book. I read book 1, then this one. Obviously from the first chapter I decided there was a cliffhangar to this book from the previous one.
The editing seems to be getting worse. Examples: David was attributed to a conversation that was actually Michael. David was in another state at the time. Michael was attributed to something that Turk (dog) did. There seemed to be a problem as to who Watkins was. He was either Deputy Watkins, Detective Watkins, or Sheriff Watkins. The author should know who her characters are. At one time Faith was spelled Fatih. Ellie was Michael's girlfriend, not his wife.
The plot was different and okay. But I hate rereading paragraphs or going back to other parts of the book to try to figure out mistakes. The main character, Faith, seems to be full of herself. She is the typical rogue agent. I know the copycat will eventually be caught. But I am not going to spend the money nor the time to determine in what book it happens. I am finished with this author.
I believe it is on page 175 where Arthur Warhol is stated as Andy Warhol. I am sure that it was an honest mistake. I don't have the written book, I was reading it on my kindle fire.
By the way this is another excellent mystery by Blake Pierce. I have read more than 50 of his mysteries and all have been excellent.
This series has been okay. This book was upsetting... even though it tried to have an explanation... Reality of real life and what would really happen ...Broke through for me.... IT WAS HARD to Finish and made me sad... I really care about dogs..
Another good book in this series. Faith is becomming moe and more obsessed with the copy cat killer and is becoming very unbalanced. She still manages to solve the crime at hand in spite of making mistake after mistake. This series is engaging and hard to put down.
The story is good, but they’ve started using a ridiculous AI narrator. “Victoria” wouldn’t be so bad if anyone actually proofed the recording. Every now and then there’s this strange goat-like noise, and she mispronounces things here and there. At least she got “Tucson” right this time. If I weren’t so far into the series, I’d probably quit.
