Just when she was settling in at the Haven (and getting almost used to the scary but exciting idea of becoming someone’s mate) Mireya’s world is rocked by the surprise arrival of two newcomers… Daniel and Heath.

She’s thrilled to see them both safe and sound. Her would-be mate--Elias--is definitely not.

He suspects Heath is a spy for the evil Apollo Gideon and doesn’t trust a word he says.

He trusts him with Mireya even less.

And she’s not sure what to believe.

Because not only did Heath bring some major love triangle vibes to the Gebby sanctuary, he’s also brought news of a devastating new threat to them and all the kids like them on military bases across the country. The fate of the human race may hang in the balance as well.

In this third and final book of the Designed series, Mireya has some tough decisions to make:

Whom should she trust?

Which guy does she truly love?

And how can she possibly rise to the world-defining battle she is destined to fight?

DESTINED is the series finale of the DESIGNED trilogy, gripping, emotional, and action-packed dystopian romance set in a near future America.

I love writing, and I love LOVE. I've been writing seriously since 2010 and have written 35 books (and counting!) Most of them are YA and NA romantic fantasy. There's a dash of paranormal and dystopian romance in my book list as well.

I'm honored to be an Amazon bestseller and multi-award winning author of the bestselling Hidden Saga, which is a 10-book Fae fantasy romance series, the heart-pounding Crimson Accord vampire romance series.

My new Romantasy series, Age of Fae, begins with A Court Bright and Broken, which released on Valentine's Day 2025. Book 2, A Kingdom Ruthless and Radiant comes out May 23rd 2025!

I live in Rhode Island where I write in my car at the beach year round and sometimes crave the heat and humidity of Mississippi, where I grew up. I love hearing from my readers! Reach out and say hi anytime.

weak ending

As with a lot of last installments of trilogies the end was super rushed. It’s a pet peeve of mine for an author to want to be done and just phone in the ending. Other than that it was good.

Of course I had to drop everything that was doing and read this book. It was only right! Amy left us with a heck of a cliffhanger at the end of book two, so I was super excited to see what would happen concerning Mireya, Elias, and Heath. I had no idea who I wanted her to end up with. After a while, all of the tension within the love triangle started driving me crazyyy! It was definitely a rollercoaster ride but in the best way. I was kept on my toes - I mean who wants predictable when you’re reading this genre?!

Additionally, Amy’s writing style paved the way for a seamless yet invigorating read that drew me in from the beginning. I loved the use of italics throughout the book and felt like that really increased readability overall.

With all of that said, Amy has once again given us a series worthy of the big screen. This series is both plot and character driven without taking away from the world building needed to draw you in and keep you hooked.

Do yourself a favor and take a dive into this fast-paced dystopian romance! You won’t be disappointed!

Better to Blend or to Stand Out?

Destined: A Young Adult Dystopian Romance Book is the final book in a three-part series. Author Amy Patrick has outdone herself in the writing of the finale of the story.

At the end of Defiant, the previous book, Mireya, Jolie, and Ketta were the only ones to escape the Florian Air Force Base and make it successfully to the rumoured safe place, The Haven. It was quite a surprise for them to find out that almost the entire population consisted of boys.

Now that Mireya and the other girls have found mates and tried to settle down, worry for the remaining people at the Air Force Base keeps surfacing. Elias, the leader of The Haven community, and Mireya's mate, is extremely reluctant to attempt another rescue mission.

Rescue and survival become a hot topic when Heath and Daniel Gideon show up at The Haven. Elias nearly flips his lid in jealousy as he knows that Heath is still in love with Mireya. He also doesn't believe Heath's story that the community is in imminent danger.

This final book has multiple grand themes such as critical thinking skills, honoring Democratic values, reverence for life for Humanity, Animal Kind and Artificial Life, and, finally, the Golden Rule. To do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.

Patrick wraps up the series with a surprising set of events involving the head of GideonCorp and the eighteen year President of the United States of America, Caine. You'll be in the crowd, cheering along with the people, as the series comes to a close. Job well done, Amy Patrick.

What an outstanding and unique series! Set in the future with a dystopian vibe, children and fertility are no long possible. A deadly virus plagued this world but a crazy genius created new beings to replace what they lost. But Gideon never thought these beings would have the thoughts and desires that humans crave. His son, Heath, and Mireya, a creation, along with the others have lots of plans. This series was creative and thoughtfully told in three books, they must be read in order. I was privileged to read an early copy and happy to leave my voluntary review.

I have read all of Amy Patrick's books and loved all of them. This last one in her Designed series does not disappoint. It is a very fast and easy read and I have to say there is something very unique in this particular book that I can't specifically mention without giving away a spoiler. It is literally the only book I have ever seen this happen in before and it kind of made me proud to read it since in many books I find the heroines to be a little annoying. However, the heroine in this book makes the right choice and it made me feel good reading it. I suggest you read all of Amy's books and you will see how she has progressed as a writer, becoming more and more adept at her craft with each one, finally culminating in this masterpiece.

What an incredible journey! I LOVED every bit of it! I was blown away and sucked in from the beginning of this series! I haven't read this genre in some time but was so pleasantly surprised! It is so refreshingly different than anything else I've read! Amy is a master of words and all the feelings! If you are new to the world of all things, Amy Patrick, you need to check out her other series as well! They are all top-notch and keep you guessing! Once you start reading, you won't be able to stop!

Esta trilogía me ha sorprendido mucho para bien. Es muy entretenido y los personajes tienen sentido. Una buena distopía que te muestra como sería un futuro sin niños.

Soo good!!

I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for months and I was NOT disappointed! The plot was so intriguing with lots of twists and unexpected moments that were so enthralling! I barely started this book two hours ago and read it straight through! It was everything I had hope for to finish off the series!

Fantastic Book!
Amy Patrick has done it again.
I had been excitedly waiting for this book and Amy delivered.
Could not put it down, it shows you all types of love in one book.
It was good to know that this was the last in the series so you knew there were no cliff hangers. No Spoilers 😁
Look forward to see what Amy Patrick comes up with next.

The long awaited 3rd part of the series!
I was so curious how the arrival of Heath and Daniel would be received by Elias and the rest.

I liked:

🌳the ‘fight’ between Elias and Heath (the jealousy, the thought, the rooting for your fave)
🌳how resilient Mireya is in everything
🌳the tree house village location
🌳the second purpose (underground) and throwback to the hiding place for Heath Daniel and Reya in the second book

I didn’t like/ had doubts about:

🌳Mireya fighting Elias to go save her friends from her old school and when they arrive she barely goes to see them or even talk to them for the rest of the book.
🌳How desperate Heath sometimes was like bro get a grip
🌳the fast ending, slow down! I want to know more details. It made it seem like Apollo just let it happen. He did so much to hide it and now he just accepts his fate? No destroying the evidence, no back up plan, no effort at all? After making him such a villain for 3 books long and building up to that moment, he should at least get some credit for his ‘evil-ness’. As if he wasn’t prepared for anything to happen ever?

I overall liked the book but I would liked it to be more explained at the end and just a slower paced ending overall. Such a good series deserves a good ending. Even though I had some doubts throughout the book, it was still very well constructed and a great follow up :)

!!!!!! The finale in this spectacular series!! The "Designed" series! It's a dystopian series and it is tooooo goood!!!! Amy is an amazing author and so far EVERY SINGLE BOOK OF HERS IS TOP NOTCH!!!! Her books are pg13 and great for teens AND adults too!!!! Not all books have to be smexual and spicy, but Amy always gives some smexual tension but it's just natural and it's not dirty at all. I'm a dark romance book lover but that doesn't stop me from devouring any Arc that Amy throws my way! I feel like telling you the plot is totally giving the book away. It's kinda post apocalyptic in a way, except that the government did NOT fail. Things got way more strict and a bit scary. A virus kills over 3mil of the population. All children and ollllder folks. Tech takes over and no it isn't robots, it's deeper. Amy has a wild imagination and you will definitely be taken on a wild rollercoaster. It's got alot of action and it is fast paced and there is not any dull or boring moments. This baby was a quick read for me. 6 hours maybe? I'm sad it's over and I would love some more of this world. Amy can't write bad books. Dive into her backlist. She has a variety of different amazing worlds she crested. Love this author so much and I'm so happy I'm able to get her arcs ! Great finale. !! <3<3<3<3

What an ending, I was hooked to this book, read it in just over 3 hours and I’m so glad I gave this series a chance!!

The ending was exactly what I expected from Mireya! Not violence but love and peace. I’m glad she chose Elias in the end, their love story was so organic and wholesome and left me wanting more!

Not my usual read, I’m normally a spicy fantasy person so I thought I’d step out of my comfort zone and read something different, no spice but a lot of tension and romance, I really enjoyed this book!

The ending fell so flat. The biggest plot point in the whole book/series was only about the last 15% of the book and it was so shallow. Where's the follow through? We went through all of that to end up with *that* ending?? I wanted to hear about their punishments, how the Gebbies were liberated, the reeducation of the humans. We were literally left on a cliffhanger, and then a huge time leap for an epilogue. I'm super disappointed because I loved this series.

Also Elias is an asshole with very few redeeming qualities. Abusive men aren't sexy.

Great

It's was a really good ending. I'm a little sad Reya didn't end up with Heath. I guess it wasn't meant to be. But overall, the story had a great ending. I'm glad they got to rewrite the lives of every human and gebbie to live in peace all together. I wish I knew what happened to the president and Gideon, but who needs details. I guess I can imagine they got bound to prison.

The Trilogy

In all honesty, I almost gave up on this trilogy, but I’m glad I didn’t. I say this in hopes that others will read until the end of the third book. I’m not way into romance novels, which these seem to be- especially in book one and two, but the overall theme isn’t romance, it’s faith in humanity and the U.S. constitution- that’s why I gave 5 stars. The message was so good.

Great Book

Really loved these books and enjoyed getting to know the characters. Love the love triangle and glad with who she ended up with. Only negative is the ending felt like it was rushed reading 3 books and that’s all you get at the end a little disappointed. I would have liked to seen the aftermath of the live broadcast and what happened to heath’s dad and the president.

This book had so much potential. I was excited to see the Gebbies rescue Mireya's friends and overthrow the oppressive evil government.

Unfortunately, most of this book revolves around the love triangle. If that's a trope you enjoy, then this book will be right up your alley.

The rescue happens off page, and the overthrow of the government is relatively simple, and is abruptly cut off in the middle in order to skip to the happy ending in the epilogue.

disappointed

I liked the concept and the writing style, but somehow the story lacked substance. It was just a little bit too predictable and the ending for me was rather contrived. No way would things have panned out so perfectly and easily. Sorry but it just didn’t do it for me.

Awesome series

With our current political atmosphere I believe everyone should read this and think before they vote of what the major parties are doing. This series is so relevant to COVID and presidents wanting unlimited power and lying to the public and how eyes need to be opened about many subjects. In place of gene edited people put migrants.

Worth the wait!

This was the perfect ending to the series! My attention was fully engaged from start to finish, wondering if the good guys would win and what the state of this dystopian world would be after all was said and done. I was not disappointed! So glad I kept tabs on the release and didn't miss this wonderful conclusion. Amy Patrick's writing doesn't disappoint!

This book was good, but there were lots of things I didn’t like. I didn’t like mireya, she was just really annoying. Also heath and elias were both not that good I don’t even know what team I’m on. They would each do like an amazing thing but it couldn’t compare to all the annoying things they did. The plot had some good parts but a lot of it was boring, and it was hard to really get into.

Awesome! Read as always. This book had me guessing the whole time ( what's going to happen next, who will she pick, will they make it out alive?!) If you like some suspense, a little sci-fi, and light romance, you'll love this three book trilogy.

What a fantastic conclusion to one of the best series I've ever read!! If there ever was another book series to base a movie off of, this is it! I haven't been able to shake this book hangover yet. Looks like it's time to start over with book 1 and live here a little while longer.

I’ve really enjoyed this series but this book was just not it for me. It felt very rushed and the constant arguing between her mate and ex lover got boring after the third or fourth time. The ending left me with more answers too. So disappointed!

I really liked the idea of the series and the story was interesting. But it was just too unbelievable at the end. Everything worked out too easily/perfectly.
Also the two guys fighting for Mireya were annoying. And I didn't like Elias.
