I generally like the genre and found this one a passable read. I thought the plot was all too predictable. Evil black-hearted villains - check. Pure-hearted hero and friends - check. Corrupt police and justice system - check. So on that level I was unimpressed with the story. The thing I disliked most in the end was that the protagonist just seemed to stumble from one mistake to another. Unlike most novels in the genre, this time the protagonist seemed out of his depth from start to finish, never managing to control anything about what happened and surviving more through never-ending luck than skill or planning. This time every plan proved foolish, every time a skill should have saved him it failed, and luck intervened instead. It left me less interested in the character and undecided whether to read another novel in this series.
Razor Moon, written by Ted Galdi, is the second book in his Cole Maddox Action Thriller series. This story had me hooked from the very first page and held me captive until the last. As much as I liked the first book in this series, I enjoyed this one even more! I am looking forward to reading the third book in this series.
I just finished it and thouroghly enjoyed this book. To say it's action packed and fast paced is putting it too mildly. This was such a page turner, I absolutely didn't want to put it down. I recommend it highly if you like action.
I started the book today & finished. It is fast moving, intriguing & keeps you on edge. FBI involvement makes you think twice about where this world is at & whom you can trust. Cole & Lacey are together again. Happy ending to be continued.
Another 2.5 read. This one finds Cole dating next door neighbor who is less than tolerant of his penchant for getting involved in saving people in trouble- she comes across as extremely selfish. Last book Cole was saving his brother & the town from biker meth dealers , this book it's a kidnapped girl Aponi from the reservation in a sex trafficking ring. Cole feels he owes the family as the grandfather was so good to him & brother Jay when they were younger.
He chases down leads because the local PD won't and saves Aponi & a few others from a trafficking house. However, when talking to the FBI, Aponi recognizes someone and the danger is not over. The traffickers make a number of attempts to kill Aponi but Cole by sheer luck seems to be there at the right time. Last book, he was fighting with a bullet in the shoulder and a broken shin, this one he was bitten by a snake and knifed. Again, it's implausible that he can triumph over these wounds, yet he does-hero once again.
Not sure if it's worth reading the next in the series as it probably will be more of the same.
It's an interesting story, with the usual.bad guys and twists. However the storyline does seem to wander at times. At some point a snake makes an appearance, no idea why, it's just there, has a minor part in the story and is forgotten about One aspect of the authors approach I do like, is the tidying up of all the threads at the end. The story is done, but what about z,y,z. In this regard the author does well, a scene at the end with a father and his daughter on bikes ties up 3 or 4 loose ends in one scene
Cole is a man who, above all else is motivated to do what's right. He is a man who cares deeply about those he loves and will stop at nothing to protect them. But he's also willing to put his life on the line for those who cannot protect themselves. And while he's willing to use all the experience he gained from his years in Special Forces he really want to live a peaceful life with his family and friends. The question is will that be possible in the Big Sky Country of Montana?
When a young girl from the Chipogee tribe goes missing, Cole feels the need to help. Some in the tribe see him as an outsider and do not want his help. But Cole doesn't let that stop him from diving head first into a battle against those that choose to take advantage of others!
Very bad to exploit young girls and describe it like pleasure reading
There is a fine line between making people aware and concerned about teen abduction and exploiting human trafficking. This book crosses that line. The subject is not entertaining.
A combination of mystery, suspense and fast paced action. Tricky and involved plot keep me turning pages to the very end, Good addition to this series. Looking forward to the next.
