This is the second book I have read in this series and will be the last. I don't understand how this type of writing gets published.
The protagonist's constant joking gets old very fast and is not an attractive or admirable trait.
But the plot - or maybe the lack of plot! We are given insight to the killer's thoughts but they don't interact with any of the other characters until near the end! And the two detectives are always coming upon something that looks like a clue - completely overlooked by the crime scene crew! What? Then near the end they finally come up with a name - and in the space of seconds area able to pull up everything known about them - including pinging their phone so the detectives know where they are and can rush off cross country/town/neighborhood to accost them! Really?
Poor writing coupled with an outlandish/thrown-together plot and multiple obvious red herrings do not a mystery/suspense make. Don't waste your money or your time.
P.S. I read the first book in the series and had many of the same criticisms, but I had already downloaded this one so decided to go ahead and read it. Big mistake.

I’m done with this guy’s work. I’ve read a half dozen and if anything, they’ve gotten more inane and formulaic. Zero character depth and very lazy descriptions of actions or the environment. He’s written maybe 200 or more. Is AI churning these out?

This book is utterly appalling. Considering it’s set in England, it would probably help if the author had visited England. Truly the worst book I’ve read in a very long time!!!

Finn does not know what to do, he has an opportunity to remain in the UK but he has too many unfinished things in the US. His trial is upcoming and he still longs for his fiancee. Another case comes up and he is requested to help and sees himself engulfed in a castle and with a family full of secrets and with a very prominent past. He also learns a bit more about his partner, the beautiful and smart detective that accompanies his UK adventures. He'll be very surprised at the end of this story.
Entertaining and easy to read!

Great book

After reading the first book about Finn Wright, an American FBI agent vacationing in England, I was excited to see there was a second book about the agent and his time in England.
He worked as a consultant with a detective in England to solve a murder.
It kept my interest the whole time.
I enjoyed reading about Finn and his time working with the Constabulary even though he was supposed to be vacationing .
I couldn’t wait to see what happened in the book. I’d love to read another book about Finn.

I liked the story and setting of this mystery. Finn seems a bit...scattered. And I guess he is, being in England while back home in the US he is unsure if he'll be able to work again as an FBI agent. He is attracted to his English partner, and still to his wife who he is separated from, because she had an affair. He is a bit all over the place. And yet, that is how his mind works to solve murders.
It's a good book, just not a great one to me.

Really enjoying the main male character for a change. All other books read by this author have been female leads. I like the witty humor of Finn. The setting of this book was great. Story flowed nicely. Main story line is getting interesting but im rooting he gets together with his new partner.

When You're Safe ( Book 2)

Another exciting mystery with Finn Wright FBI by Blake Piece. Lots of exciting action and interesting characters. Finn is a riot and I am not certain he could really pull it off in England.
Really interesting in starting the next Book3

Lightness with a twist of intrigue.

I enjoyed the characters very much. Nice light read for an afternoon. Needs a little more mystery elements to keep me continuing to follow this author full time. I like a little more hard core consistently.

This was a nice, easy read with a good mystery in it. If there was an option for 3.5 stars, I would’ve given it that. Kept my interest that I would read more things by this author.

Love a mystery that keeps you guessing. Lots of twists and turns. Great characters that add to the almost familiar storyline. Best if read in order through.

Just awful. Should have stopped halfway through. A festival of clichés with cartoon characters.

Easy read. Just a little slow moving at points. In its defense, I had not read the first book in the series.
