Prayerfully journey through Lent with inspiring and meaningful reflections on the daily Mass readings. In just a few minutes each day, the insightful meditations of Not by Bread Alone can deepen your experience of this solemn season of prayer and penance.
This is a lot different from the lenten devotionals I've used for the past ten or so years, and in my opinion a much better, in-depth look at the daily devotional readings. Not to diss earlier devotionals, they're fine, but this one fed me, and fed my spirit, which is my primary goal (and hope) for every devotional I open. Doesn't always happen, unfortunately, but I'm more than grateful when it comes.
Lent is over till next year, and I look forward to seeing it's 2025 edition. If it's anything like this year's, I highly recommend it, especially if you parish provides it for it's parishioners.
Hmmmm. I read this because I need to be fed and guided. I do not care for the “Little Purple Book” (which is not really little). This devotional was OK and I was impressed with a few days because as I look back, I highlighted a lot on those days. I’ve used this a couple years now. I might look for something else next year. This year the Knights of Columbus had a lenten devotional “Born of Fire” that i used and it was also good but would not be the type that you would repeat every year.
