Herry empties his toy chest of everything from accordion to zebra, until he finds his alphabet book.
A series of Sesame Street books offered by subscription through the mail. Originally released by Golden Press, many of the Book Club series were reissued by Reader's Digest with slightly modified covers.
ABC Toy Chest by David Korr, illustrated by Nancy W. Stevenson is a classic. I grew up watching Sesame Street and this book is a fun reminder of the characters in the show. Herry is looking for something in his toy chest. It starts with his accordion then barbell, camera, doll, elephant... zebra etc. It goes until Herry found what he was originally looking for his Alphabet book. The book is fun to read and would be a great book for children who are familiarizing themselves with the alphabet. It also has good vocabulary for beginning readers. I would have this book in my classroom library and think that many students would find it a fun choice to read.
Herry looks for something in his toy chest—on each page he pulls something out that begins sequentially with a letter of the alphabet. Kids who love Jim Henson’s Sesame Street Muppets will love this book.
