Mathias: Night Shift

Rate this book
If you walk through fire, you’re bound to get burned.

Mathias's life is crumbling around him. His burial grounds are compromised. The woman he cared for is gone. His control over the demon inside him is in tatters. Just when he thinks he has nothing left to lose, an arsonist strikes, burning his apartment to the ground.

Charred crime scenes multiply, driving Mathias to hunt down the pyromaniac before innocent lives are lost. To make matters worse, the serial killer stalking Mathias raises the stakes by dropping drained bodies at every turn.

In desperation, Mathias allies with a shifter who despises him and a reporter who pries into his secrets. Apprehending the arsonist doesn’t seem possible when Mathias must face his most merciless opponent—the demon’s thirst for blood.

One false step is all it will take to condemn the city to ashes and free the monster within.

So you want to know the person behind the words of your latest novel. Look no further! This is me.

Hi, I'm Kari. I love romance books... in fact I read them through my most impressionable years - so just call me a hopeless romantic. I love when one character fights for the love of another and triumphs in the end. So when you're reading my book, know that you will get your happily ever after!

Twists are a natural part of life. Whether on the pages in a book or in the real world. Lets face it, things that keep us guessing are what makes it interesting. As I also love stories with twists, you will find I try to sneak them into my stories. Doesn't matter if it's romance or a mystery... so keep an eye out.

So, here is the basic break down. I am the oldest of 4 half brothers. I grew up in Utah and I live in Idaho. I burn the candle at 15 ends on a good day - which is why I get the compliment "You look tired" so often- HA.

Some of the things I fill my time with are my family, my business - both writing and teaching preschool, sewing, reading, baking, cake decorating, drawing, singing, home improvement, yard work... well, you get it.

I hope you pick up one of my books and it fills a few hours with entertainment. If I delivered, I would LOVE a review or mention! Don't be shy! Drop a line! I love to hear from my readers too.

Mathias: Night Shift follows Mathias at a time when his life is falling apart. His burial grounds are no longer safe. The woman he cared about is gone. The demon inside him is harder to control. Just when things seem like they can’t get worse, an arsonist burns his apartment to the ground.

As fires spread and crime scenes pile up, Mathias must hunt down the person responsible before innocent people get hurt. At the same time, a serial killer begins leaving drained bodies behind, making the danger even greater. Mathias is forced to work with a shifter who hates him and a reporter who keeps digging into his secrets.

The biggest battle isn’t just against criminals, it’s against the demon inside him and its hunger for blood. One wrong move could destroy the city and unleash the monster within.

This saga is ramping up. New characters and abilities are taking center stage. Danger and shadows are crouching all around. So many threads and loose ends that you’re just not sure what they are or where they fit in. A read that I could not put down. I never can where Mathias is concerned. The battle between good and evil. Something that exists in all of us. Battling our own desires. Sometimes I really wish that this series was finished so that I could read from beginning to end without a cliffhanger lol.
