On January 5, Herbert Hoover was replaced by Franklin Delano Roosevelt as the 30th President of the United States. 23 degrees below-zero freezing temperature was recorded in Seminole, Texas, on February 8, 1933. In 1933 a hurricane decimated south Texas dislocating hundreds of rural indigenous families. The story is about my dad and the hundreds of people affected by the hurricane and the phenomenal year of 1933.
