Edie's Sinner

Rate this book
Tyson Ramsey, handsome, arrogant, and king of the campus for his football prowess, has earned the title of The Golden Ram. Though rude to student reporter, Edie Billodeaux, in an interview, she can't help but feel a tiny bit of attraction. However, only long-legged beauties ride on his motorcycle, not short brunettes like her. Still, Edie is shocked when rumors of his drug use turn out to be true. He is kicked off his college team leaving him with no future in the game. Determined not to see talent wasted, she hounds him into entering rehab. What she doesn't foresee is her father, a legendary quarterback, taking Ty under his wing to prepare him for the NFL Draft. Lynn Shurr

Once a librarian, now a writer of romance, Lynn Shurr grew up in Pennsylvania Dutch country. She attended a state college and earned a very impractical B.A. in English Literature. Her first job out of school really was working as a cashier in a burger joint. Moving from one humble job to another, she traveled to North Carolina, then Germany, then California where she buckled down and studied for an M.A. in Librarianship.

New degree in hand, she found her first reference job in the Heart of Cajun Country, Lafayette, Louisiana. For her, the old saying, “Once you’ve tasted bayou water, you will always stay here” came true. She raised three children not far from the Bayou Teche and lives there still with her astronomer husband and two big-boned, orange cats named Jake and Elwood.

When not writing, Lynn likes to paint, to cheer for the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers, and take long road trips nearly anywhere. Her love of the bayou country, its history and customs, often shows in the background for her books.

I happened to see this book by chance, I didn't know it was part of a series but I decided to read it for its cover and title that caught my eyes.

Tyson Ramsey is the star safety of his university football team, until he got in trouble and lose his place. Edie Billodeaux is a student and an aspiring journalist at the LSU. They meet when Edie has to rite an article on Tyson. She isn't charmed by the hot player and his antics, but knowing him and his family better when everything go south she decides to help him to get back on his two feet.

Edie's Sinner was a good read, I had to get used to the writing style but the storyline was well thought, and the charachers well depicted.

Edie grew up in a large, chaotic family full of football stars, I adored how everyone try to protect her, being the youngest and the smallest of the lot, but don't get fooled she is a strong and assertive young woman and she knows what's better for her. Tyson on the contrary only has his fabulous grandma, witty mother and sweet sister, he always felt the need to protect them. I was so invested into his story that when he failed his family I hoped he could defeat his demons once and for all so he could gain his happiness. His pain and stryggles felt so real, at times it was heartbreaking.
Edie and Tyson relationship grew steadily and slowly throughout the book.

I hope the author will give us the stories of the new generations of Sinners.

I received an ARC from netgalley in exchange of an honest review:

I liked the book. Ty was a good guy, he just needed kick in his butt to make his life something, someone to show him that life is more than we think. And that's exactly what Edie did. Edie was herself and not what everyone expected her to be and I liked that. They were an odd couple, true, but they did fit in a strange way. I had some problems with some things that people sometimes said in various ocasions, I did not like it nor think it was a nice or good thing to be said. The family part was so confusing, and I know it's my fault for not reading the previous books in the series but I didn't know this was a series. But still, I really like Edie and Ty's story

I just finished this book. Edit is one of the last kids of Joe. And she's a LSU communication major where her twin Rex is a football player. She meets Ty ( Golden Ram) star football player while interviewing him for an article. And that meeting will change both there lives . As Ty battles addiction and stages a comeback with Joe and Edie help.
This story has lots of ups and down as Ty finds himself and becomes a part of the Sinners family. . But it's its filled with family and love with a touch of Louisiana flavor.

Another Wonderful Sinner Story

Enjoyed the wonderful romance of the youngest daughter of Joe Billedeaux. The story is very sweet along with stories about some of the history of the region. Loved reading about the love and caring nature of this family toward others and how they help people to succeed in life. Her descriptions of food, fashion and football are always interesting to enjoy.
