Dagnija Zigmonte was a Latvian writer and screenwriter.

She studied at Riga City Atgāzene Primary School ( Riga 45th Primary School , 1939–1946) and Riga 3rd Secondary School (1946–1950). Studied at the German Department of the Faculty of Languages ​​and Literature of the Riga Pedagogical Institute (1950—1954).

Dagnija worked in the magazines "Liesma", " Zvaigzne ", "Dadzis", "Soviet Latvian Woman". She began publishing his work in 1956. Dagnija wrote novels , short stories, children's books, memoirs, humorous works. In 1957 she became the Latvian Writers' Unionmembers. D. Zigmontes' 1960 novel "Sea Gate" was screened in 1974, after several works staged theater performances, they were translated into several other languages.
