This was a very good read! Another fast-paced, action-packed zombie adventure full of violence and death! A truly crazy story, so many shootouts, never a dull moment! If you like zombies, this is for you!

Trying to catch up on one of my favorite zombie series because book 8 will be out soon. This is book 7. Still warming up to the new people. I have a new favorite since my last favorite turned. Ernie, the retired hit man who had been in WITSEC in Monktree Wyoming. Practical and deadly. The survivors try to find a doctor in a hospital. Newbie mistake. Then they head to Walmart because they didn't learn any lessons from the hospital 😂 Some home grown milita men show up with grievances to settle. We meet new people, we lose other people. An all around brutal time.

Someone recently said to me that they tired of the everyone killing each other trope in zombie stories and while I can see that what always gets me in a zombie story is the group of survivors we follow. They usually don't know each other and are flung together in a hopeless situation and forced to work together. They usually make new friends in the group and often make it out of impossible situations together. Sometimes they find love or at least some romance. I find hope in that trope, ridiculous as that is. But I'll take it where I can get it and a good zombie story always has it.

Jacy Morris is one of the best "indie" authors out there that I have come across. His "This Rotten World" series is full of action, excellent character development and a realistic take on the fall of civilization. Also, love the hard cover versions of Rally and Rot and Tempered in Blood. If you are a fan of the Zombie genre, I highly recommend. 4.75 stars!

Jacy does a great job in the zombie apocalypse genre. The characters are well developed and tell a great story
