Love this arc so much! It’s the perfect demonstration of why Fuko is one of the best characters in Shonen Jump and I would follow that girl anywhere.

Anyway, Void is hired, and we have three months until the next set of Quests. There aren't enough seats at the Table yet, but Fuuko and the gang set out to hire as many allies as possible instead of sitting on their asses. Accordingly, I'm learning how poorly I retained information from earlier volumes because some of the characters here aren't immediately familiar. I don't remember what Unseen did in the previous Loop. I recall Undraw blocking people from moving, maybe? And I guess that she taught Andy how to fight earlier. Was she dead already in the last Loop? I do recall Undecrease, but as like a minor enemy. Untell, Unbreakable, and especially Unfair are all more notable. Kind of upset the 1999 setting means we're not gonna have the muscle-mommy granddaughter as Unbreakable....

This volume is doing better with emotional moments than earlier parts of this new Loop, so it looks like we're improving again!

A lot happened in this volume since a lot of new Union members were located and joined up with Fuuko and the others. I really liked seeing a more in-depth look at the war that caused the tragedies of Billy and Tella. Seeing the war take place and the specifics of each side was fascinating to me, especially since the specifics of the enemy side revealed Creed’s tragedy. I also really liked seeing Sean and Yusai’s recruitment, and learning more about Sean; I just wish we saw more of Yusai’s time before joining the Union since her character is a mystery.
Overall, I’m still deeply enjoying Fuuko’s new dynamic with everyone and am eager to see Billy and Tella join the Union and see who get saved-then-recruited next.

I am glad they are giving Negators who really did not get much time to shine a chance to be more involved as I total forgot that Mr. Void was a character as he only appeared in that one fight and same with Unseen. I am glad they are brought back and we actually learn more about their story and we finally get around to start recruiting members of Under. And I do like that Billy is still kind of the same he does not want to be seen as the good guy so he wants Fuuko to force him to join.

Let's speed through a few other characters joining and jump into a an arc of Union trying to stop a war! Creed and Tella aren't exactly my favourite characters, and Billy is cool and all but he doesn't get to do much. The real cool thing here is SEAN. Unseen! Who did... basically nothing last loop but gets actual characterization now.

Basically this volume gives us two major quests for retrieving folks that have more emotional depth than others from this huge cast, bookending several quick people retrievals. The fight against Void (Unavoidable), is actually a lot of fun. And I love that we get to see how Fuuko has changed so much from the beginning of this series. I seriously love the character developments and arcs in this series, including all of the wild scenarios. So this one starts with a big old battle of boxing, which was actually a bit tense. And I enjoyed the battle of wills that took place. We then get the quick quests where Yusai (Undraw and Andy's mentor), Isshin (Unbreakable and previous Isshin's dad), and Sean (Unseen). With these three added to the team, they begin the big quest of the volume and that's to recruit Billy (Unfair), Tella (Untell), and Creed (Undecrease). The wartime drama of this part makes for some super rad fight scenes along with some surprisingly good character development for Sean of all people as he comes to terms with being a support person who may not be in the spotlight but is still just as important. We then end with Billy and Fuuko on the verge of a duel, which I can't wait to see play out.
