The ending of this series left me feeling very unsatisfied. I enjoyed reading the whole series; however, the ending felt so rushed. I don’t want to go into spoilers, but everything just felt wrong.
There was this build up for a long time and then the end just felt anti-climatic. The heavily hinted at reveal of Darren’s father was just kind of ignored, and even humanities origins were just a journal blurb.
All in all this story suffered as so many do, the author just couldn’t end it properly.
10/10, 5 stars, the higheat of praises I could give it, I am so thankful I got the chance to read this series!!! It was so much fun following Darren and his companiona on this journey, and I'm really glad I got to read. I only wish there was more, but I appreciate the author ending it with a very satisfying ending. Only complaint that doesn't affect my love of the story is I wish Darren had ended up with the Princess of Eastwood, Captain Emilia, the Dunegon Queen and Laura. But, it is the author's story and I am content with where we ended. This was a lot of fun, and I'm glad I got to read this story. Everyone, please try it, it's a lot of fun. Thank you very much Mr. Author.
While volume 3 was the best of series, this was still a good addition. It was very long and you could argue that maybe some of the side quests/world building was wasted in a final volume, as that page count could have been used to expand on the conclusion, which is relatively brief. Darren continued his trend of overpowering himself to the point of absurdity, so the results are never truly in question. Also, I appreciate the author taking steps to not add harem members unnecessarily, but there is one glaring omission that I just can’t help but be disappointed by, the horny baker. Overall, I liked the series and will most likely try some of his others at some point.
Ends about as well as I could expect, and it was good that it did, as it was time. Author said he expected it to be 3 books, and I can see where it got away from him a bit.
Some interesting background info, although it really went nowhere so I'm not sure it was worth the page count. Likewise, although there were some fade-to-black sex episodes, too many of them were not. Anyway, if you liked the first three books, you'll probably want to read this.
It’s been a while waiting for this book but it’s here at last and so worth the wait! The last book of the series does an excellent job fleshing out characters, building and expanding the world past the 7 seas and growing Darren as a character. I’m sad to see it end but thoroughly satisfied with where it ended
This book was great, good pacing, never felt rushed, didn't leave any loose ends. It has an ending style I don't usually like but that's because so many times authors leave questions unanswered. Instead this one leaves you right at the end with everything truly closed. Well, mostly
Lot to say about this book, it's the conclusion to everything the story has been leading up to, but it also spreads itself a little thin exploring the last unknowns of the world. Not all minor plot threads are followed to their logical conclusions and some are forgotten. That said it's good, I liked it
I'll be honest, I loved the three first books of this series. However, this one just doesn't move. It has become boring and repetitive. The previous three had a perfect balance of smut, slice of life, action, and plot. It seems that in this book the plot disappeared and the other three aspects have swollen.
I found myself getting really drawn into this story. It is an excellent conclusion to this series that did not disappoint. It will be on my favorite books list. It is definitely worth the money and time to read or listen to as I have heard the audiobook series as well, and it is top-notch.
Just finished this series, and I've got to say — it's one of my favorites in the genre. Even though I'm quite frustrated that Darren's journey ended in only four books, I'm glad it wrapped up the way it did. That said, I think there's still a lot that could be explored in this world. For instance, the revelations in the final sequence alone could fuel three or four more books on their own.
I don't have anything profound to say. The story is over, and that's kind of sad, but it was a wonderful story and reading it was a joy. I'll be revisiting this series every few years.
I enjoyed the series as a whole, and I'm satisfied with the ending. I hope the author makes more out there stories that sound silly in a blurb, but work out smoothly on paper.
I just finished reading book 4 of the series. I loved all of them. The end was fitting for our hero. He deserved every bit of victory won. Sad to see it end. Maybe he will seek more power & go adventuring again!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I'm sad that it's over, but I am happy with the ending. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were interesting and engaging. This book is definitely worth checking out.
Wow... I truly am blown away by how much I enjoyed the series by Knight. Darren's such a good egg and the women are equally as good. Their strength is not to be dismissed on their own and they each have their gifts that Darren would never be able to accomplish on his own. Great read for sure.
While I did find myself getting a little burned out on some of the recurring plot elements by this point, I found that I really wanted more of this series when I got to the end.
The first three books had Darrin walking forward with a certain inevitability. This felt like someone checking of a list of to-do items. It covered all the bases, but felt forced in many places.
