The crash was just the beginning … Scott Harper makes his living flying hunters and fishermen into the wilds of Alaska. However, his current passenger is different, wearing a suit and tie and carrying a briefcase. Scott’s strange passenger directs him by gunpoint to a remote landing strip in the middle of nowhere, and armed men suddenly surround his plane. Barely able to take off under fire, his aircraft is heavily damaged and crashes deep in the wilderness. With the men in hot pursuit, Scott must navigate the rugged terrain to stay one step ahead. The Alaskan wilderness is full of surprises. Finding his way back to civilization could be deadly!

Andrew Cunningham has a great style for thrillers. There are as many laughs as there are gasps in his work. This was the second book in his Alaska. It was a quick and easy read, but very enjoyable.
The second in Andrew Cunningham's Alaska Thriller series, Nowhere Alone is dominated by the younger Harper brother Scott, and takes place in the summer wilderness interior of the great state of Alaska. We will see just a bit of Jon and Sabrina, but lots of that wilderness and some fancy flying by Scott as he with the help of his retired police German Shepherd Sam brings down a terroristic plot to kill thousands of American citizens. This is another Cunningham novel that demands a one-sit-down setting, so be prepared for 5 or 6 hours without a break. This one was published in the summer of 2023 so I hope there will be another in this series very soon. I can't wait! Reviewed on March 4, 2024, at Goodreads, AmazonSmile, and BookBub. Not available for review on B&N or Kobo.
I enjoyed this book. So sit back and hold on tight because you are in for one wild ride because with so much going on you will be hooked until the very end. The story was quite twisty with all the double crossing and betrayals but it sure made it entertaining. I can't go into too much detail without giving the plot away but let's just say there is treasure hunting, terrorism, plane crashes and lots of flying bullets, you name it and this book probably had it but it worked. I loved the characters especially the gutsy little girl, which is surprising because it is usually the dogs that steals the show for me. I will be looking out for more books in this series. Scott and his faithful dog are flying there latest client to the middle of nowhere. The client isn't his usual client wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase into the Alaskan woods and that is before he pulls a gun on them. Changing the flight plan has them landing on a deserted airstrip met by armed men. Scotts only chance is to just take off but during his escape his plane is hit forcing him to crash. However his plans isn't the only plane to crash but can be trust the only survivor? The woman knows more than she is saying but will her secrets get him killed especially as the armed men are hunting them. The narrator spoke clearly and gave the characters there own voices. I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntary left this review.
Scott Harper is an Alaskan pilot who flies passengers across the state. His latest passenger is annoying, but when he points a gun at Scott and orders Scott to change directions, he's also dangerous. Scott takes the man to a secret camp where he's taken prisoner. Every escape plan he imagines fizzles, but then an unlikely alibi enters the scene. Scott begins an incredible adventure through the Alaskan wilderness.
This novel is full of great characters. Scott is brave and refuses to quit. Michela is brave for a thirteen-year-old. Even the bad guys are good characters.
This was a real page-turner. The action was detailed but not overly dramatic. The descriptions of Alaska were detailed enough to give the reader a sense of being there.
Scott Harper, the younger brother of Jon Harper that was featured in Wisdom Spring, along with his ex-police dog Max are hired to fly a weaselly (Scott's description) man carrying a briefcase back into the Alaska wilderness. That doesn't end well when Weasel man diverts the flight to a hidden camp at gunpoint and Scott and Max end up stranded in the Alaska wilderness.
There's no shortage of excitement in this book - more than one plane crash, more than one death, a terrorist plot, a damsel in distress, a treasure, and even more.
Author Cunningham writes a fast-paced thriller that's fun to read. I enjoyed this book and I enjoyed Wisdom Spring, the first installment.
Another exciting Action-Adventure story from Mr. Cunningham. The plot is fairly simple and fast paced. Character development is minimal. There are a lot of twists and turns and surprises. There are some amazing coincidences and unbelievable moments, used to drive the overall plot forward at a fast pace. Typical for a short length action thriller. If you hang on for the ride, and don't examine the details and decisions too closely, you will probably enjoy this book, as well as others by Mr. Cunningham.
After reading the first of The Alaska Thriller books, Wisdom Spring — a terrifyingly real story of conspiracy and greed — I had high expectations for the second. And I wasn’t disappointed! Nowhere Alone is a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller (relieved with unexpected bits of humor). Scott Harper and Max are the perfect duo for this action-packed adventure set in the Alaskan wilderness. Another great book by Andrew Cunningham!
This is a story that grabs you from the get go and carries you off on multiple adventures. All of the characters are little mini-mysteries of their own, in a story that keeps you guessing until the very end. There's history, mystery, gold, poison, murder and espionage! Reminds me of one of my favorite story tellers, Clive Cussler. The book is a great escape, a fun entertaining read. Thank you Mr. Cunningham.
This survival story was a nailbiter. I loved the main character Scott; a pilot who never says quit when in danger. He also lightens up tense situations with his quips. But Max the German Shepherd is the real hero. Michaela, a 13 year old very intelligent and self-sufficient girl, joins forces with them against the bad guys. One character who didn't set right with me was Kaycee, Michaela's aunt. This is a series I will follow.
I love this author and have now read all his books. After finishing this sequel I re-read Wisdom Spring and plan to go through all his books again—They are that good! Subscribe to Andrew’s newsletter and you’ll get a delightful email from him periodically with personal anecdotes and occasional gems of wisdom. He is my favorite author!
This a very fast pace read. Scott gets a character to fly a man to a remote town but there is z change in destination. Things don't go well for Scott. He hikes all over the wildness after he crashed.trying to get out. He found a terrorist group and things get very interesting. This is a very good book follows the first book.
I'm not a fan of a lot of shooting or fist fights. I prefer thrillers that are mostly intelligence work and less physical, and this one had bodies ending up all over the place. However, it was exciting and it kept my attention. I still enjoyed it. It has some of the same characters as in the first book, but a totally different situation happening, and a lot more characters added.
I started this book in the late afternoon….and finished it late in the evening. With all of the unexpected twists and turns, the novel was very hard to put down. Although the central plot sometimes bordered on the unbelievable….the overall characters, action, Alaskan setting, and suspense completely made up for it. Now, I’m on to the third book in the series.
Wanted to give this a 4* because the plot was good. But I marked it down because some things were just unbelievable... the bad guys miss so many shots by inches, yet a 13 year old girl hits every time?
Another that I had in mind was that the ricin is going to kill the bad guys but the 13 year old is going to survive it? (Although we find out at the very end that there was no ricin in the spray).

Easy-to-read book. This is the 2nd in this series and takes place iin Alaska, which is where I live and was drawn to it. Very little was said about the problems of bugs (esp mosquitos) in interior AK (location of story). Hard to fathom walking for so many miles -and- not be accosted by these things. Overall, good story.
I liked the characters in the book. It was so exciting, that I didn't want to put it down. I liked ready about Alaska where it all took place. I would recommend it v to all my friends.
I liked this story. 2nd book by this author . Wisdom was first. Better than "wisdom" Loved the finish !! Will buy another by this author. Bog Lake 26.2 Run a turned biker
I loved this book! The characters were well fleshed out and consistent to the end. One of my peeves is someone doing something so out of character at the end it ruins the whole book. The action and dialogue were believable.
This book brings alive parts of Alaska and the mysteries found from long ago!!! I again could not put the book down, you just need to read it. I fell in love with Max!!!
A pilot with good faith started out with a paying passenger that took him on a trip he would never forget. Hiking in the Alaska mountains with a gun aimed at him was not expected. Thanks to Max things were looking up almost. How can he survive is the question?
Both books are very similar an ind very good! The stories are exciting and interesting. So are the characters. I very much enjoyed them both and will definitely follow Andrew Cunningham in the future.
The first book in the series was better but this one was very interesting and entertaining. The characters were expanded on and the plot was a little convoluted but the action kept me reading. Waiting to read book three.
Nowhere Alone, is stunning! Fast paced excitement, mystery, possible terrorism! It has it ALL!! Sit back, grab a cup of coffee & begin the ADVENTURE!! Don't make plans..you'll miss them, cause you're not going to put it down, till you've READ EVERY WORD! Andrew Cunningham, KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK!
I really enjoyed this book and the writing. Really good storyline and characters. It was a page turner for me. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Andrew Cunningham has outdone himself. This thriller might even be better than the first.
I had so much trouble putting this book down. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a story this much. Andrew Cunningham might be the next chart topper.
Okay, I know I said I wasn't going to read the next one but I decided to check it out since it was already on my kindle. It was better than the first one. It did keep my interest better than the first one and I didn't fall asleep reading it.
