Emma was brought up in Guildford, Surrey, in a family of artists and from as far back as she can remember she has wanted to be an illustrator.
Emma studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Central Saint Martin's School of Art and has worked extensively in advertising, editorial and book illustration.
She was nominated for the Booktrust Early Years Award in 2006 for her book "What Pet to Get" and in 2009 for "Miaow said the Cow"
Emma lives in Surrey with her husband and two children, who provide inspiration for her work, and their Jack Russel Terrier, Bart, who keeps her fit. She likes to spend any spare time in North Cornwall, surfing and walking in all weathers.

I LOVED this book Love by Emma Dodd. She gets me on every level as a parent and having 2 children living 3,000 miles away from me, her stories help fill the gap of missing them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

As usual for an Emma Dodd book, this one is very sweet, and, dare I say, *lovely* for reading with a preschooler.

This is lovely and well designed, but I can't help but feel there is a tragic story underneath as to why these two rabbits have only each other.

“I love you when you get it right, and when you get it wrong.”
My nanny baby loved a lot of books, but this was the one she made us read every night after bath time, before I tucked her into bed. We would read it slowly. Starting with the title and *always* the author: “Love, by Emma Dodd!” She would say Emma’s name with such reverence. Paying close attention.
I cried every single time I read it to her, and she would look up at me with her huge dark eyes and give me a quizzical little face, because she was two years on this earth and didn’t know how rare the love I was describing to her was. And how strongly I felt it for her.
I still feel her on my lap, settled there with such assurance because big person laps were built just for little persons to sit on. She would make me read the copyright pages at the end every time. Little hands turning to the page most children and adults ignore in every book. But she didn’t know yet it wasn’t interesting. To her everything was new. Every one thing mattered equally to every thing else. So we read the page, and I would move from tears to laughter, and then off we went to the little bed I tucked her into every night except Sundays, and home I would go to continue to love her and never see her again.
But this retired nanny kept this book.

This picture book has very sweet illustrations very reminiscent of Runaway Bunny, showing an adult bunny doing typical bunny things with their baby. There is unique gold paint speckled into the background on some pages, which adds a magical element to the illustrations. The book also features pleasant nature scenes showing: yellow and white daisies against green hues of grass, yellow-gold wheat fields, blue skies, white fluffy clouds, and a rainstorm paired with the words, "Love is when we huddle close and shelter from a shower." The last page is truly heart-warming, showing the adult and baby bunny cuddling close with the words, "I love you so, and when I try to count the reasons why . . . I find there are more reasons . . . Than there are stars up in the sky." The final illustration features the two bunnies cuddling inside a burrow with a gold moon against a navy blue sky with gold and white stars. For toddlers and preschoolers, 14 months – 5 years old.

Such a sweet and lovely book about a bunny's love for her little bunny. It got me from the first page - "Love is in the morning when you wake and smile at me." And with each page I loved it more.
We follow this little bunny family as they hide from the rain, quietly watch the sky, chat together, and stop to smell a flower. Parent bunny tells little bunny that she loves them "when you get it right and when you get it wrong," which is always the most important message about a parent's love (in my opinion).
Emma Dodd books are always so sweet and lovely, and I always love the illustrations, especially the shiny metallic details that appear in all her books.

This was a very simple but cute book. The words were easy to read, and the pictures were captivating. This would definitely be for younger students and even for a parent who wants to read their child.
I do not think I would use this in the classroom. It is an adorable book but more so for parents to read to their children. I would have this on my bookshelf but wouldn't use it as a lesson plan.

Even though I have always loved children's books, I have somehow never managed to read Emma Dodd until very recently. Only two titles in, and I am in love!
This sweet book lyrically shows a parent expressing their love for their child. The illustrations are beautiful and shiny. I didn't fall as hard for this book as I did for Together, her other title that I've read, but this one is still excellent!

I really dug this. A book all about love, a topic that's been covered many times before in picutre books but there's something about it that makes you go "awww." There is gold gilding included in the illustrations which are really beautiful.

Beautiful colors, memorable rhymes, and sentimental (but not mawkish) illustrations depicting the unconditional love of a mother rabbit for her baby bunny. Sweet, tender, and appropriate not just for the indicated 2-5 year old audience, but for picture book fans of any age.

Lovely words about love. Easy and short to read, but it lightens my day. Love is always the answer to darkness’s days. Just a day I’m down and feel bad, this book is a soft reminder that love is around me, in different shapes. Love is always there, same as my cat

I love this series so much! The books are sweet and the illustrations are just adorable. This is such a feel good series for kids. I find myself reading them and wanting to give the messages to my adult kids. They are just really good books and messages. Highly recommend them!

The second review for an Love You Series book. Emma Dodd is so adept at putting my thoughts and feelings onto a page. Again, wish it was bigger so I could use it for my large crowds story times.

An adorable story with super cute pictures. My daughter enjoyed this book but younger children will adore this book as well. Would recommend.
