•Dive deep into the ocean and learn about different types of sharks and other dangerous creatures that live in the ocean. Learn about how big the Great White Shark is, or how deadly a Sting Ray’s sting can be. Although the book is full of dangerous creatures, you will still want to go into the ocean after reading this book, just watch where you step.
•This book has great labels on all of its pictures, but it highlights a lot more words than are either needed or in the glossary. It does a great job in showing how dangerous or big something can be by have a danger rating and size comparison for every animal. There is a problem in that sharks are such a big focus the other creatures seem almost out of place in the book.
5) This book can be used for an animal themed week, or a oceanic animal themed week. This can show the children the different types of sharks in the ocean or the different dangerous creatures that live there. Another use may be to show the students that what may seem scary and dangerous is not all that bad as long as you leave them alone. The book discusses how sharks do not deliberately go after humans, they mistake them for seals. This then can be taught as sharks are dangerous but are only dangerous if they mistake you for food.

Summary? This book is mainly about sharks, but includes other dangers in the oceans/water. It goes in to detail about each creature it features.

Did I like it? I thought it was very well done and had cool images. If I said I didn't like it, it would be because it's scary!

How could I use it in my classroom? I would likely have this book on my bookshelf for the children interested in the ocean and its wildlife to read.

My kids love this book. We've read it about 100 times and my five year old practically has it memorized. My other son, 3, laughs every time we get to the hammerhead shark page. every. single. time.

Summary:
This book digs into sharks. The first page gives much information about sharks. It talks about different types of sharks. Then the book goes into great detail about the animal. The next pages talk about each type of shark and gives information about them. The books talk about how some attack people, and how many of them don't even want people, they just want a seal or sea lion.

Personal Opinion: I read this book not because I was interested in sharks, but because I know as a future teacher I will need to have read a book about sharks to connect to some of my students. I have a fear of water, and sharks so reading this book definitely didn't help my fear at all. The pictures were detailed and some scared me even more. Definitely would recommend this to a shark lover tho!

Classroom usage:
This could be used in many ways in the classroom. I think younger kids could benefit from it. The best idea that I came up with was for students to get in a group and then each be assigned a shark from the book, and give facts, draw a picture of it and do research on the shark then present it to the class.
