She is a former professor and HOD of department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore. She has worked as senior consultant at Thirumalai Mission Hospital, Ranipet for 10 years , after retirement from CMC, Vellore. She has been a teacher, researcher and gynecologist
