Hakuin and Shidan have to see a priestess to get the weapon fixed. She doesn’t like demons, so Fuyu and Figaru have to stay behind. After one ‘incident’ already Shidan locks Figaru in a sacred ring to keep him away from Fuyu. But days pass, and Hakuin and Shidan not returned.
Fuyu is powerless without his weapon. He needs Figaru’s mighty powers to rescue Hakuin. Figaru isn’t so mighty lately. He needs a mate badly.

I enjoyed the first two volumes of this OEL western yaoi enough to keep buying. The story was different and the art pretty good. However, this volume kicks it up a notch, making the series must-read. The story of a monk who must join forces with the winter demon who once raped him takes on new twists and angles in this volume. The encounter with Figaru leads to an astonishing revelation for Fuyu and the "action" is hotter than in the first two volumes. The scene between the two demons was particularly singe-worthy! Beyond the hot yaoi content, the story itself became richer. While the first two volumes were more a series of incidents, this one ties the bits into a full plot. Though this wasn't a cliff hanger ending, it was close and now we must wait for the final volume.
I hate waiting.
My only gripe - I hate text bubbles on the cover art.
In their desperation to get the razor whip fixed, Hakuin and Fuyu travel to see the old priest who created the weapon in the first place. But Priest Shidan has his own agenda. His incubus servant is feeling cravings and there are no human beings or other demons in the area who can appease his sexual desires. It seems that Fuyu is going to have make a hateful bargain if he wants that whip fixed…
The incubus Figaru, muscular, handsome and loving, goes from being a character in a minor tale to a major player. While it would seem a foregone conclusion that he forces Fuyu to submit as he did another demon, the writers have surprises in store. Once again, we are shown that not all demons are evil and not all humans are decent.
The creators of this series know how to keep their readers riveted and coming back for more and they’ve done an excellent job of it here. The illustrator is Yamila Abraham, one of my favorites from the Yaoi Press pantheon of artists. Her rounded, fleshed-out masculine figures are far more appealing to me than the scrawnier offerings of certain other artists.
