Don’t be fooled by the cover. This is a great book on prayer and the things of the Spirit. I tried to skim it for school to write my paper but couldn’t skim. It was so good I had to keep stopping to soak it all in. For sure on my must read again list.

The Master Is Calling, is just the book for you. The subtitle is "Discovering the Wonders of Spirit-Led Prayer," and that is exactly what Lynne leads us into, with her simple explanation of how to tap into the Spirit and her comforting assurance that if she could learn how to do it, we can too.
I like books that explain things without a lot of complexity, yet are full of solid teaching, and this is one of those books. The way Lynne talks about prayer fired me with renewed ardor to wait upon the Lord to hear His heart. I needed to be reminded, once again, that it is time to slow down and be in His Presence just for His sake -- and that it is out of such times that mighty, answer-receiving prayer flows. And she talks about the dearness of the Word — always a big deal for me!
She uses Isaiah 56:7 -- "... My house will be called a house of prayer ...." to teach a concept I particularly like: back in the OT, the temple was God's house, and it was to be a place of prayer. But since the Holy Spirit has been given to believers, we are the temple, and therefore we are His house of prayer!
I was sorry to have come to the end of this book. Every moment in it was a refreshing time, and I felt like the Lord was already bending near to me even while I was reading it. I no more than finished it than I started reading it through again.

Answers those basic questions like: why do I need to pray more than once? How do I pray? and Where do I get faith in order to pray? All with scriptures, personal stories, and indepth vocabulary studies of key words from faith-building scripture verses. I received a copy of this book from a wonderful mentor of mine, Sylvia.

I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a greater insight into my prayer life and how to improve the time I spend praying.

I love a dove this book. I wish there were more stars to give it. Every time I read it I am drawn closer to the Master.

Lynne Hammond does a wonderful job of explaining how to be led by the Holy Spirit in prayer. She discusses how we can fellowship with God through prayer.
