Go mean a person who can apprehend and ku mean a thing that cannot be seen by the eyes.
Goku then getting another friend like the rambunctious general, Kenren, and a military otaku and a bookish Tenpou aka Ten-chan.
This is the origin story of Goku, dubbed as the "Heretic". He is being taken care of Konzen, Bosatsu's nephew, which has the same personality and appearance as Genjyo Sanzo. The other characters are Tenpou and Kenren, which looked like Cho Hakkai and Sha Gojyo respectively. I think Goku was destined to be with the likes of the trio.
Set 500 years before the original series - I literally LOVE seeing Goku and everyone's previous lives and poor Nakatu. I have forgotten if they even did any of this in the anime, so I'm excited to continue with Saiyuki Reload Volume 1 and see where everything goes.
