Day to day diary of the 56 day decisive battle of the French Indochina War by one of the highest commanders of the battle. It's not just about the military engagements but also about the living conditions, the resupply situation etc. The book could have used more maps to better understand the parts of the single military actions but otherwise a very interesting read.
